Considering the fact that the Giants were supposed to have figured Dak out, that this was Dak's first game of the regular season and the fact that the Giants are a very good defense, I give him a pass on his duck balls. He still didn't turn over the ball, and put us in a position to score points (even if they were field goals). B performance.
He'll get even better.

Dak has evolved. Ran no huddle like a champ. Had Giants D Lineman sucking wind by end of first quarter. He had some off throws, but no critical mistakes. I give him an A-. You do realize that's a new weapon we didn't have last season? No huddle, with Dak calling plays. Now, imagine that against weaker defenses.

Wait, weren't you the guy that was riding Dak weekly? What happened?

What he showed tonight is no different than what he has shown since his first start. Awkward footwork, average velocity on his throws, doesn't sense pressure well. He's always just been about his composure and managing.

About the only thing that was down in this game was his accuracy - throwing balls a little too high on many of his throws.

Looked good to me.

Missed some early throws but settled down and avoided turnovers. Avoided pressure well and had a few nice scrambles.

Got a W and played within himself.

Sophomore slump? Giants have our number? SNF curse? Dak got the big head on the banquet, endorsement circuit this past offseason?

Whatever the reason I don't like what I've seen from him.

You can talk about Zeke all you won't but we go as far as Dak takes us! A runner is not going to take you on a long playoff run... and the Cowboys have the cast around Dak to get their!

Tip passes in training camp practices

Everyday Scandrick was nearly intercepting a tipped pass from Dak. Near the end of Camp in Cali, One of the plays was so bad, I had to quit looking at the TC reports on BTB.

We go nowhere if Dak doesn't regain last seasons form.

Overthrown passes in the Raiders game. To Butler and Dak. Bailed out by a weak PI call on the Butler throw.

Back to back games where he let the clock run down to zero. I don't think he did that ONCE last season.

The lazy analysts will be teams have a year of tape on him. That's BS. Tape has nothing to do with him missing Dez on a throw that even D. Watson completed. And Watson couldn't hit a side of a barn w a dodgeball! This has been 100% on him.

I'm worried

I don't like him under center w the 2 step drop, that looked awful tonight

Am I overreacting? Talk me off the ledge...

I'm worried and nervous about this.
Aaron Rodgers sucks too, based off of today.

His game was good enough for victory and good enough for a 90 quarterback rating. That's all I know
Victory is a team thing, and thankfully they were playing a team without their best player. He did a good job by not committing any turnovers.

I didn't think he looked bad. He looked rusty and not as sharp as he would like to be I'm sure.

But far from bad.

More importantly he helped them win.

I think you've had enough tonight. Put the top back on the Jack, stuff it back in the cabinet and hit the sheets, my friend.

We're talking about training camp? Not the game, but training camp? The place where you try new things as a quarterback?

The two-step drop back was exactly what needed to be done to get the result we got. He knew he couldn't hold on to the ball for a while because of their blitzes from last year. He wasn't flashy, but he got the job done. Nobody is going to shred that defense, they're good!

But they weren't doing that. He was missing throws (by a lot) when decent a throw would suffice. He wasn't horrible overall or anything, but he had some issues. I don't know why that is so hard for some to admit.

Sure they were. JPP was causing Dak to throw out of rhythm. Dak threw the ball right where it needed to be on the deep go route to Dez, but Jenkins masterfully nudged Dez enough to make for an impossible catch. Landon Collins made an incredible play on a pass to T-Will that you don't see SS in this league make very often. And there were several other plays that the Giants defense made that made the life of Dak more difficult that most other defenses in the league would have done.
