You know what I find very interesting... The Romo lovers are seeking every opportunity to criticize Dak. It's so silly and shallow. Pardon my French but I really wish it would stop. This is not a Romo vs Dak thing. This is a Cowboys success thing.

We are watching the future unfold in big D and, for once, the future is bright. Romo is a symbol of fragility in his twilight years. He would be lucky to see three more full games. I, quite honestly, have zero additional faith in him being able to last past three games when he returns. He is incapable of accepting the fact that he's fragile and just needs to work the pocket. His mind is still fixed on his ability to scramble. Meanwhile, defenders aplenty in the NFL are getting faster & faster.

Romo is a train wreck nowadays when the pocket breaks down. His mind tells his body it's still 25 years old and his body reacts like a 55 year old. It's a painfully obvious mix that I'm tired of seeing & that's just me being real.

I wish the best for Romo in his recovery but right now... For the next several weeks... Dak is the guy that deserves nothing less than our unwavering support. He has done and said all of the right things since we took him in the 4th. I'm with him.

some folks don't want to win... they want to be RIGHT... no matter the consequences...

What Dak needs is better support from his receivers, & he himself needs to improve week to week...

improvement is incremental.... you don't walk on the field a complete product....

The way the Cowboys are spinning it, Prescott will have at least five more games to go through such emotional highs (and lows). There have been reports that Romo could be back on the field by Week 8 (right after Dallas' bye), especially since the prognosis for his recovery was about six to 10 weeks. That means Prescott has about a month and a half to keep proving himself to all those who believe in his potential. More importantly, he has to help the Cowboys avoid the type of implosions that have plagued them when Romo has gone down in the past

This scenario is played out hundreds of times over the years quarterbacks hit their mid-thirties run into the wall whether it's injuries or just reduction of skills they're done.
It happens suddenly at times and both they and their fans refuse to accept it.

Dak played well enough to win the game had no turnovers under the immense pressure of opening day. sure he'll struggle but much to the Chagrin of some of the Romoites the kid is a intelligent, skilled natural leader who I don't see being denied.
Awesome for us THE COWBOY FANS.

interesting thread from a guy who blamed Romo for everything way back when. Owens could never do any wrong and Romo was always to blame for everything.

Funny stuff.
Also a guy who grew to love & appreciate what Romo brought to the table for so many years. Again, just being real about what I see. No shades no blinders.

That said, I will forever remain a TO fan. Thanks for recognizing that.

Dak doesn't need our support. Dak doesn't even know about our support. Dak is likely too busy working his *** off trying to improve - he's practicing, going to meetings, studying film and doing everything he can so that he's a better player next Sunday than last Sunday.

Dak needs the support of his coaches and teammates, and he's got it. Dak is not the problem, it's the Dakasses who wanted to run Romo out of town - some of whom are probably hoping the best for Romo in his recovery now. Funny how that works.

Edit: And note the date. This is the moment the term Dakass was born. If anyone reading this was one of the "Romo is done" "Dak has never given a job back" "Romo had his chance" "Dak is the future and the future is now" people - you're a Dakass. I might make shirts.

You got it all wrong my friend. But I understand where you're coming from. I will personally pay to provide crisis management theraphy for you when Romo does decide to retire because I don't want to see you walking any planks or clifflines. You deserve my support.

Romo may very well not be done @theebs.
But, right now, Dak deserves uplifting support. He has done nothing to warrant anything less.

pretty sure he is getting it. He seems to be loved. He got a larger ovation than any player during introductions in the stadium sunday. 105.3 the fan was so giddy Romo was out they couldn't help themselves.

Everybody loves Dak and they are creating unreal expectations for him. If he continues to struggle all these people propping him up will attack him and that is not good for a young qb.

I don't need your support any more than Dak does. We'll both be fine.

but you weren't just a TO fan. You were a its all romo's fault guy constantly bashing.

So asking people to be nice to Dak or whatever as if he isn't the golden child is kind of funny.

He will be fine. He has all the tools and a ready made offense around him. Like @JDSmith said, he's also working hard butt off. That type of recipe breeds success.

Look, Dak is a YEAR ahead of schedule - at least. That isn't because of the support of an internet message board. That's because of his ability and work ethic. Dak is the least of my worries.
