Dak needs (and deserves) our support

It's getting pretty embarrassing around here with these people who want to throw Romo under the bus for a shiny new toy.

You must support Dak (who isn't?)! It's not about Tony and Dak (proceeds to have a paragraph disparaging Tony). And then actually using the silly argument that Romo needs to focus on the pocket...where 85% of his injuries have occurred.
The only safe place for Romo at this point in his career is the pocket.

It's all part of the whole "I am a better fan than you" thought process that some fans have where if you level any criticism at a player or coach you aren't a real fan.
I think we're all great but I also believe it's premature to want to cast Dak away as if we somehow can't survive without Romo in the game. This is no Weeden, Kassel, or Moore situation. We have all of the tools in place every to win with this guy. A major part of that tool box is Dak himself.

Maybe you can link a thread where people are rooting against Dak?

I don't see it.
I know I'm very excited about his prospects.

The only major disrespect I see around here are some (maybe a dozen or so) actively being disrespectful of Romo. Even you treaded a little bit into that territory, but not as badly as some.
Several around here get down right nasty about it.

But it seems that we all are pulling for Dak. So I think you're off-base here.

Just curious though...did you ask the entire board to give Weeden unwavering support just because he was the QB at the time?
Your bias is showing through. I happen to share your bias for Dak, but just pointing out that we can't tell anyone they have be all in for any player.
If you didn't see it after the game either:

1. You're blind
2. You followed a no CZ rule for a day or so.

I don't see a lot of people criticizing Dak. What's there to criticize? He's coming in in relief, played well, and exceeded all of our expectations.

Unless you consider the fact that he's not as good a QB as Tony Romo to be criticism, I guess. But he's not, yet.
"We can't win with this guy. Get Romo back in there ASAP."

Do I really need to dig for it? There was plenty after the game.

You know what I find very interesting... The Romo lovers are seeking every opportunity to criticize Dak. It's so silly and shallow. Pardon my French but I really wish it would stop. This is not a Romo vs Dak thing. This is a Cowboys success thing.

We are watching the future unfold in big D and, for once, the future is bright. Romo is a symbol of fragility in his twilight years. He would be lucky to see three more full games. I, quite honestly, have zero additional faith in him being able to last past three games when he returns. He is incapable of accepting the fact that he's fragile and just needs to work the pocket. His mind is still fixed on his ability to scramble. Meanwhile, defenders aplenty in the NFL are getting faster & faster.

Romo is a train wreck nowadays when the pocket breaks down. His mind tells his body it's still 25 years old and his body reacts like a 55 year old. It's a painfully obvious mix that I'm tired of seeing & that's just me being real.

I wish the best for Romo in his recovery but right now... For the next several weeks... Dak is the guy that deserves nothing less than our unwavering support. He has done and said all of the right things since we took him in the 4th. I'm with him.

Geez, I don't know Bleu, I don't get that impression. I'm always defending Romo but I'm really rooting for Dak and think he's going to be a great QB for a long time for us.

It's one of the things that drives me crazy about the few Romo haters. You get the sense they would rather see him fail than the team win but I agree with you. Nobody should be glad Dak struggled a little just to protect their Romo turf, nor should fans want Romo to get hurt again to give Dak the job.

How in the world can you not like the kid is beyond me.

& this is all I'm saying. People are trying to brush it off because it's buried on page 2 or 3 now but I know what I saw & for me it was embarrassing.

It's not a Romo or a Dak thing. It's a "get a Cowboys W by any means necessary" thing.

Right now, the catalyst for Ws is named Dak Prescott. Talk to me about Romo when he's healed up and we're 2-4. Otherwise, I'm going to rally behind what we have in front of us right now.

I wasn't in the game thread, but if that's what you're getting it, it explains why I haven't seen it. There's a special kind of stupid that happens in the game threads.

some folks don't want to win... they want to be RIGHT..

Everyone wants to win. The Garrett supporters, however, would be too busy talking about how they were right all along instead of celebrating if we ever win a Super Bowl (lol) with him.

Paragraph 1 - Slam people criticize Dak for being "Romo Supporters" and say it isn't a romo vs. Dak thing.

Paragraph 2-3 - Spend time slamming Romo and not talking about Dak.

I really haven't seen a lot of Dak criticism.

I found out over the last month that apparently I'm the biggest Romo and Dez fan on this forum while most of Cowboyszone thinks they're both washed up.

Dak though.. Heck yeah I support him. However I don't support him playing over a healthy Tony Romo.

At this moment, I do not believe Dak is our franchise QB. I saw a rookie 4th round QB play at the Brandon Weeden - Matt Cassel level.

I am rooting and hoping for vast improvement.

On the same note, Zeke is on the hot seat as possible biggest draft bust of the year.

& that's fine man but immediately going for the "is Romo ready yet?" card immediately following that game... Kinda lame but that's just my strong humbled opinion.

1 game dude. 1 game. Both will improve against the Skins. You can take that to the bank. I'm not sure if you've seen it but Zeke was highly critical of his Sunday performance .

Ehh... We have a group of people like that who ride the emotional roller coaster.. ESPN trained them that way.

Like this guy above that you're replying too.. He came to that conclusion after Daks first game his rookie year.. Like come on... Don't even reply to that crap.

Yep, that's what I'm saying to myself as well. Just one game. Gotta let the season play out.

I'm just keeping any overly exaggerated expectations under lock and key. The reality is that franchise QB's are difficult to find. I'd love to see the next super star QB arise ... but, the reality is there's a reality.

It's premature. Basically it's "We can't win with this guy. Get Romo back in here ASAP".

Basically Romo's experience makes a difference, you can deny that all you want but we have 10 years of stats, trends and proof.

1. Dallas would not have seen 8-9 men in the box
2. Some of the high throws from Dak we would not have seen
3. Romo's ball placement on both throws to Dez would be different
4. Protection calls and blitz recognition would've been different
5. Romo knows how to throw his guys open

That isn't a knock on Dak, but to sit here and act like Dak is far superior is ridiculous, and has been ridiculous since Romo's injury. Some of you are blinded by the fact that Romo is and will be the far superior QB for the next 2 years. Dak is a rookie who has been forced into action. He has some great qualities and skillsets, but he is a Rookie that teams are not afraid of right now.
