Dak needs (and deserves) our support

I am a huge Tony Romo fan, and I've been a huge Dak Prescott fan since we drafted him. Just knowing he has that "it" factor sold me on Dak right from the start.

Dak has my support and always will. I want him to be the Cowboys' next franchise quarterback, and everything I've seen from him so far tells me he will be. And the best news of all is Romo is coming back at some point this year. The best case scenario is Prescott is playing so well Tony doesn't have to rush.

I'll bet Dak would be the first one to say he needs to play better. If he didn't think he needed to play better he wouldn't be working so hard to improve. We just lost a game by 1 point where our QB had a 65 passer rating, do you not believe that better QB play might have resulted in a win? Do you truly believe that Dak walked off the field and said,"I was good enough."

Fortunately, Dak doesn't think like you and I'm sure he'll be better next week. Because he's not going to accept that as good enough. He's going to strive to play better.

Top ten troll post. Im impressed.

Wow. I'm shocked. About as close to a neutral post that have seen from you. There's still hope in this harsh world.

You're 100 percent on this one. This is what should make Dak our QB for at least a decade.

But let's not forget this about Dak's stats Sunday- he was 25/45 passing, but that included a couple clock killing spikes and at least four or five drops by his receivers (including a 24 yard TD to Dez). Prescott could have easily been 30/41 against the Giants.

I don't think they're going to rush him anyway. Last season showed why that's a terrible idea. But I think winning this week will make it a lot easier for them to hold off on that urge. If the team can manage a .500 record or better with Dak that will pretty much guarantee that Romo will be able to get back to 100% before he sees the field.

I'll bet Dak is going to look at the film and come back next week to attack some of those mid range passes he didn't against the Giants. If the Commanders try to clog the line and stuff the run I think Dak will make them pay. They'll need more bodies to do it than the Giants, and now Dak is going to have a much better idea of what 'NFL open' is and when he can attack the coverage. I think he's going to look much more aggressive this week. Add to that I expect our OL to be seriously pissed, Zeke to have more holes, and Morris to really want to take it to his old team. I think the Skins are in huge trouble. And that will leave us 1 - 1 in the division with a home loss and a road win. With a rookie QB who wasn't even supposed to see the field this year that's not a bad place to be at all.

What puzzled me about the Commanders last night was they played Josh Norman on one side the entire game and didn't shadow Antonio Brown with him. If they do the same with Dez Bryant, I see a huge game for Prescott.

Josh is overrated and I see Dez getting on track & exposing him Sunday. I just need to see Dez moved around. Cmon Linehan. I know you're capable of creativity!

I agree about Norman. That's why Carolina let him go. Plus, he got into a fight with one of his teammates on the sideline last night. Good- the more dysfunction in Washington, the better.

Norman is way oveŕ rated..he looked great working within Carolinas Defense. The only problem with Bryant is he can let defenders get in his head and take him out of his game. The coaches need to settle him down. Revenge is best served ice cold.

You know what I find very interesting... The Romo lovers are seeking every opportunity to criticize Dak. It's so silly and shallow. Pardon my French but I really wish it would stop. This is not a Romo vs Dak thing. This is a Cowboys success thing.

Romo is a train wreck nowadays when the pocket breaks down. His mind tells his body it's still 25 years old and his body reacts like a 55 year old. It's a painfully obvious mix that I'm tired of seeing & that's just me being real.

Isn't it fun to create strawman arguments that don't exist so you can then tear them down?

Everyone wants Dak to play well.

I'm sorry that those who kept insisting that the preseason and regular season were different beasts were proven right. Daks struggles were the easiest call of the offseason to make.

He showed he belonged. He also showed what should have been obvious to anyone who has watched football with a critical eye for any number of years; namely, that Romo gives this offense a MUCH greater chance for success.

The delicious irony is that you ask us not to disrespect Dak and meanwhile you did nothing but insult the best qb in franchise history.
You just love disagreeing with everyone, huh?/

If Dez would have controlled the damn ball through the entire catch..

If cole would have caught the pass earlier in the game all be it high ..it was catchable.

If the sob tight end would have been flagged for tackling jones in the endzone on the cruz go ahead td.

we would have won this game easily.

Dakota will be fine ...he has my full support...he was a rookie making his first start in a crucial division game and played very well.

The coaching staff is who i don't trust...We damn near won in spite of their lame, stupid playcalling.

The screen to Witten and the countless passes to him were beyond pathetic.

Preach.

The screen passes to Witten alone are enough to inspire restless nightmares.

Just in case y'all were wondering (you know who you are..), I didn't have to go back & search for it. Someone posted in the thread that made my blood boil & caused this thread to come to fruition. Feast your eyes... There's plenty of idiocy in that thread to go around (primarily by one or two people). But yeah, I made it all up...

In fairness, there's were a number of level headed awesome people that saw the thread for what it was and defended Dak's effort.

In the succinct words of @mrmojo:
I hope this thread isn't going to be posted every week. Tony is not here we need to deal with it not hypotheticals.
Nailed it sir. Support what we have in front of us. My primary point here...

If that thread upset you then you have mental issues. I just re-read the entire thing and nobody was ripping Dak or calling him a bust or anything - saying the team is better with a pro bowl QB rather than a rookie in his first NFL start EVER isn't exactly an insult to the rookie. Even the guy who started it said that he didn't think Dak played poorly. He's not as good as Romo, deal with it. He's a freaking rookie. Did you really believe that a rookie would come in and be a top 7 QB right out of the gate? Do you think that people admitting that the team has a better chance with Romo than Dak is some kind of indictment of Dak's long term potential?

This thread is 100 times worse than that thread.

Why am I not surprised you responded to that? Hmmm

Dak has my support. As of right now, I don't know if he's the future or not but we need to know. I say let Dak loose.
