Prescott did an outstanding job against the Giants under very tough conditions. He is just coming out of college with no NFL experience and is forced into a season opening division game at home. How much harder could that be for a raw rookie QB. He really showed me something.

All of that and we were still in position for a possible win. We didn't lose because of him as some have implied.

That's called giving their honest opinion. Like you said you were doing with Romo.

Ask the mods nicely if they can delete this stupid thread.
Yeah you guys are right. I made it all up in my sleep.

Apparently I made that all up. No one ever implied anything. It was all Dak flavored peaches & roses.

There is no safe place for any player on the football field. I'd much rather Tony avoid hiys than stand there in the pocket and take a beating.
At this point in his career, his mind believes his body can do more than it actually can. When he scrambles, it's Russian Roulette.

At least in the pocket they can provide the extra protection to keep him upright.

You know how those parents sound on The Simpsons?

That's how your message reads to me.

So essentially deep down you know you are fabricating this massive anti-Dak movement and now can't spin your way out of it.

The reality is there is no a large contingent of fans putting Dak down or screaming for Romo to come back ASAP.

Yes of course. I'm fabricating it all. I was in an imaginary trance immediately following the game.

It must have been.

Sure there were criticisms of some of the things Dak did. Frankly, he didn't play a great game, merely a good one for his first start. He's also a NFL QB and with that comes criticism from fans, analysts, etc. It's the nature of the business. But to try to create this notion that there was this large grouping of Cowboys fans that were disrespecting Dak is just bizarre. There were a few, that's about it.

Keep telling yourself that. The definition of insanity is.... You know the rest.

You know what I find very interesting... The Romo lovers are seeking every opportunity to criticize Dak. It's so silly and shallow. Pardon my French but I really wish it would stop. This is not a Romo vs Dak thing. This is a Cowboys success thing.

We are watching the future unfold in big D and, for once, the future is bright. Romo is a symbol of fragility in his twilight years. He would be lucky to see three more full games. I, quite honestly, have zero additional faith in him being able to last past three games when he returns. He is incapable of accepting the fact that he's fragile and just needs to work the pocket. His mind is still fixed on his ability to scramble. Meanwhile, defenders aplenty in the NFL are getting faster & faster.

Romo is a train wreck nowadays when the pocket breaks down. His mind tells his body it's still 25 years old and his body reacts like a 55 year old. It's a painfully obvious mix that I'm tired of seeing & that's just me being real.

I wish the best for Romo in his recovery but right now... For the next several weeks... Dak is the guy that deserves nothing less than our unwavering support. He has done and said all of the right things since we took him in the 4th. I'm with him.
Isn't it fun to create strawman arguments that don't exist so you can then tear them down?

Everyone wants Dak to play well.

I'm sorry that those who kept insisting that the preseason and regular season were different beasts were proven right. Daks struggles were the easiest call of the offseason to make.

He showed he belonged. He also showed what should have been obvious to anyone who has watched football with a critical eye for any number of years; namely, that Romo gives this offense a MUCH greater chance for success.

The delicious irony is that you ask us not to disrespect Dak and meanwhile you did nothing but insult the best qb in franchise history.

I don't need to tell myself anything. There are a lot of people in this thread calling you out for what you said too. If anyone needs to have a discussion with himself, it's looking like it's you at this point.

Romo has far more injuries from inside the pocket. It's not escaping that is getting him hurt or exposing him to more hits. It limits his hits more than anything. He escapes when there is no protection. That's the entire point.

What does support from the CZ have to do with Dak's success? Is anyone not supporting him? If some take the stance "prove it", that is not supporting him?

I've not seen any hate on him as the Romorooters do on Romo. Personally, as long as his name isn't vick, I don't care who QB's the team. I pull for the team, not individual players.

He also needs to play better.

If there are Cowboy fans not supporting the current starting QB of the team they claim to love, then they should find another team to cheer for.

Lol..... the rookie fourth round pick needs to play better?

LMAO i cant believe some of you.

Some of them are revealing themselves in this thread. It's like magic. I don't need to go search for anything.

I'll bet Dak would be the first one to say he needs to play better. If he didn't think he needed to play better he wouldn't be working so hard to improve. We just lost a game by 1 point where our QB had a 65 passer rating, do you not believe that better QB play might have resulted in a win? Do you truly believe that Dak walked off the field and said,"I was good enough."

Fortunately, Dak doesn't think like you and I'm sure he'll be better next week. Because he's not going to accept that as good enough. He's going to strive to play better.
