First we have to tell people to "tap the brakes" on Dak's induction to the HOF based on his performance in his rookie year, now we've got another group we've got to warn to "tap the brakes" for believing in his impending collapse due to showing up on a TV show.

How's about we play out the season before we decide which brakes to tap?

Making an appearance on a morning show during the dark of the off season regarding cancer awareness is hardly jetting off to Mexico on a bye week during the playoffs.

Why are we holding Parcells in such a high spot here? Isn't his time in Dallas largely considered a disappointment?

When Dak struggles this year (and he will at times) I won't be looking back to this moment and lamenting a lack of focus in June.

Yeah, obviously Dak was doing something right, not wrong.

But that silly old narrative about Cabo is, and has always has been, silly

The team had two full weeks before a game and had looked rough down the stretch. The coaches insisted they all get away and re-fuel. Come back rested and ready to for hard week of preparation when they knew who their opponent was.
All the players were ordered to stay away from the facilty for a several days.
One player (according to OC at the time, Garrett) forced his way onto Valley Ranch to watch game film before leaving. That was Romo.
Romo and Witten got out of the rat race to a house in Cabo with their girlfriends and were back in a few days before anything cranked back up. Meanwhile half the team is going to titty bars in Dallas and Houston, flying to other places or just drinking/partying at home. Somehow hanging out in a house two hours away by air with their girlfriends is something bad.
It was just so moronic to think they did anything wrong.

Dak will put together a MONSTER career for the Cowboys... full of Pro Bowls, breaking team records, some deep playoff runs (fingers crossed) and a spot in the Ring of Honor. Maybe even the Hall of Fame.

There was absolutely nothing flukey about his fantastic rookie season. That will be proven in time.

Not sure if that qualifies him to be considered a "generational talent" or not, and I don't care.

Actually, it did not turn out "okay" if you look at it.

I know it is like talking about the dead, but Romo did violate some of these rules. And if you look back on his career, well, that explains a lot.
