Im not sure if this was already posted, but don’t expect anything, other than Dak trying to get the highest QB contract when he tried to negotiate his next contract. This was basically his words on Lamar Jackson.

"I support those guys getting their money," Prescott said. "Hopefully he's next, and he tops Jalen."

This is basically the same exact thing when Zeke got his contract and Dak said he isn’t taking a “home” discount. Of course his logic was sound in regards to the NFL getting more revenue with gambling, meaning teams don’t really lose money, but this guy actually thinks he’s that good..

In before this goes down hill like intended.

So what, who cares. It is one of those topics that will vary as we all know.

All are way overpaid, and rather if one feels it hurts the team or not in the end they are all overpaid.
If you think players are overpaid tell the millions of people to stop watching the league... simple right?

I've always seen it as the 1st contract being team friendly, the 2nd being player friendly, and 3rd being up to how team friendly the player wants to be.

Would have hoped Dak would see Tom Brady as a role model for contracts in his later years. Not banking on that though.

The longer Dak plays for the Cowboys the less of a fan of Dak I am turning out to be. I didn’t think that he should have taken over for Romo at playoff time, but I understand why the team went that direction. But I will say I was a Romo fan AND a Dak fan at that time and really thought Dak would have done great things in a Cowboys uniform.

Now, I still want to support Dak and think he has enough tools to win a SB if everything falls right but I do not see Dak carrying the team to a SB win anymore.

In fairness to Dak, I partly blame coaches for training him to avoid his early “risk averse” play to being “greedy” and going for the kill shot far too often. It has cost the Cowboys a lot of games.

is it Dak or coaching, or both? I don’t know, but I think Dak’s chances of winning a SB would be better if he would go back to being a bit more risk averse and if he could read a defense.

I don’t know Dak at all, but over the last few years he has come across as a bit more of a ****** than the humble hard working player that he first appeared to be.

I’ve never considered he would prioritize the team success over getting paid and I have no problem with that. He’s like all other QBs except maybe a few. I only have issues when or if he or others proclaim for him that team success is his top priority. It’s not, and there’s no need to pretend.

That’s very eloquently stated.

This is what every QB says. It’s what every player says.

I think it’s funny that Hurts, after signing a contract making him the highest paid NFL player of all time, is out there talking about how he took a team friendly deal because it’s not 100% guaranteed.

Many of us definitely want to support Dak and we should as Cowboys fans. I still think hes a good QB, capable of winning games, but he's not going to carry a team to victory against top teams like the Mahomes consistently. I feel his contract should reflect that so we can surround him with the talent to give him the best chance of winning. Whether he takes that discount seems unlikely at this point, but doesn't mean as fans we should root against him.

I'm jusy excited for this season to see how far this talented team can go and then I'll worry about Dak's contract later.

Oh my god you guys are nuts. Every player supports other players getting paid. You can find this exact quote for anyone asked about a contract.

Like are we serious right now? Do you guys not ever see any other interviews? You think players want eachother to be paid less?

Nope, but I have the right to argue their point.
I “liked” as an intention of a laugh emoji-
Not sure so much that you have “the right” but sure you can disagree /
The right ? Nah - it’s a forum which is privately run - but you go on doing you

Lol
