Im not sure if this was already posted, but don’t expect anything, other than Dak trying to get the highest QB contract when he tried to negotiate his next contract. This was basically his words on Lamar Jackson.

This is basically the same exact thing when Zeke got his contract and Dak said he isn’t taking a “home” discount. Of course his logic was sound in regards to the NFL getting more revenue with gambling, meaning teams don’t really lose money, but this guy actually thinks he’s that good..

I remember when was working...I always tried to make as much as I could......I don't see anything wrong with it.

Oh my god you guys are nuts. Every player supports other players getting paid. You can find this exact quote for anyone asked about a contract.

Like are we serious right now? Do you guys not ever see any other interviews? You think players want eachother to be paid less?
The opening poster hates Dak more then Pappy and Risen. Dak could say it’s hot in Dallas during the summer and the OP would have an issue with it.

The QB position is going to destroy the NFL salary CAP. What Hurts got is the floor for guys like Burrow. The Chiefs look like geniuses for locking up Mahomes for 10 years. The Cowboys were stupid for signing Dak to only 4 years knowing they would be facing another contract negotiation with a player who has made it clear money is his priority.

It's Jerry's job to keep Dak's or any other player's greed in check. Draft Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the 3rd or 4th round. That would solve several problems. Puts Dak and every other player on notice to improve and work a negotiable contract extension that helps both parties...or be replaced.

At some point teams go my way and build the *rest* of the team while drafting QBs who can also give you an added run dimension because they are young and cheap.
Gotta have management willing to let go of "the face of the franchise" when the time for a free agent contract comes, and let go of them even when they don't just stink. You gotta move on if they're not *great*.

Dak is no different than most pro athletes these days, it's all about "getting the bag" and if the team happens to win along the way it's just an added bonus.

Dak has the right to ask for whatever he wants, but nobody is forcing the Cowboys to pay it.

If the Cowboys think Dak is asking for more than he is worth, they can let him walk. If they think what he is asking for is reasonable, they will work out a deal.

Dak is no different than any other person on the planet... We care about our careers but want to be compensated for it at the Market rate. If not, I have a job for all y'all at the "company friendly" rate of course... HR would have a line out the door!

Congrats to Dak for achieving his goals of becoming rich. That is the objective of the modern day NFL athlete. As it should be. Unfortunately for me I do not care about his financial well being one way or the other. I care about the Cowboys winning in the playoffs. We need the 40 million dollar princess to stop pooping his pants at the end of each year.

Coverage of other teams' players, etc.? Some viewers' eyes receive the visual input but the brain does not decipher it.

Coverage of anyone or anything connected with Dallas? Every thing functions at 100% efficiency, captain. (Thanks Scotty).

When is the last time Lamar even played? Feels like the backup has been playing for two years now.

Pro-sports is about money. Owners want to maximize profits and so do the players. Everybody inside the NFL wins.
I'm sure most players want to win, but at the end of the day money is money. Doesn't matter how much they have made, it's about getting paid what you are worth in the eyes of the GMs/yourself.
I would bet if you could ask any player, anonymously, now who played in the 90's who won a ring would they take that ring or 10mil extra, it would be a landslide for the 10mil.
Money goes further than a ring sitting on your shelf.

It’s kind of tough for the teams I think. The rookies don’t always work out, even the first round picks. So it’s not just about money. Even if your team has a decent QB they normally stick with them. Maybe it’s avoiding the learning curve of a new QB or that the vets have learned enough to where they keep the offense moving. Some part of it is the fan base being comfortable with the starting QB or maybe the rest of the team feeling stable.

I am not aware of many QBs, who stated PUBLICLY a season before his first contract negotiations after his rookie contract had even started, that he wasn’t taking a “hometown” discount. They generally say things like, “when the times comes, we will deal with it then and I want to end my career here as a (insert team here)”.
