Pollard couldn't do it. That's why they used Zeke. Pollard is not a short yardage back. Davis or Dowdle? Come on.

As for cost, the Cowboys are already out of that contract. If he came back, it would be on the cheap. The Cowboys don't have a proven short yardage RB on their roster. Maybe they'll draft one, but if your answers are Pollard, Davis and Dowdle...yeah, okay. Good luck with that.
You're making good points @Stash!

I don't see a great short yardage back in Zeke.

I see a guy who doesn't run very far or very fast who has been spun into a short yardage back.

A guy who runs into the line head on with no regard. Zeke is truly a great back and disrespected by the Madden players.

At this stage Darren Hambrick or Lousaka Polite would be a better choice :)

Pollard is hurt and, to be fair, is absolutely a crap shoot as an RB1.

Those carries and that yards per get a *lot* harder when you aren’t the “change of pace” guy subbing in after a series or two.
We have a track record with our astounding CoP #2 (with obscene YPC) stepping into #1 role. SUCK!

Not saying Tony is one of those. He seems to have his head on straight and very talented.

However your point is overlooked by many who just ha-....er don;t wan't zeke around. they HAVE to overlook that point to justify their position.

If Tony excels as the main running back weapon that teams WILL scheme to stop...GREAT! We just should have concern and care about it, since he hasn't done it since peewee league.

OKAY FINE...high school. :)

Go git em Tony!

Last year i considered the tandem to be 1A and 1B. Pollard being much more effective being 1A. I think people get too hung up on the phrase the #1. The days of the workhorse back are few and far between and the only way to get that accomplished is to have Line that dominates in run blocking or have barry sanders and that shipped sailed here in dallas. They were not horrid in run blocking like they were pass blocking but they no longer were the dominant force they were in 14-18

Thats why Im in favor of the first 3 rounds being OL,DT and RB in no certain order BPA. I understand the TE argument but I am in favor of handing the baton over to the youngins and grab a late pick. Anyway well see what this weekend brings

Quarterbacks score 12 rushing TDS now, and pick up “3rd and 1s.”. Zeke should see if Jurassic Park has a football team.
BS. The running qb's, (some of them but not all), end up getting hurt at some point. I have not seen the stats from last year but I bet only a handfull of qb's had 12 or more td's in a 17 game season. I would say the number is more like zero or one. I might be wrong but i doubt it.

My answer is Pollard, draft pick, Davis and Dowdle. Maybe Jones? Best RB corp going forward. NO to Zeke.

Bringing back Zeke is absolutely a wasted roster space. And he won't be signing for the vet minimum which only makes me want him back even less.

Good logic. If we can fix the OL properly...we won;t need a blocking RB (other than just average normal blitz pickup) or a big blocking TE.

So you know for a fact what Zeke would sign for here? Or anywhere?

Hmmm. well okay then. Whatever you need to tell yourself to justify opinion.

If he came back would that nullify the 6 million dead cap hit or would we still have that and whatever they decide to pay him? That would basically mean that if he signs for say 4 Million, he'd be costing Dallas around 10 Million?
