JGs doesn't have a playbook full of plays no other team runs. Far and away most are plays every team runs. A post pattern is a post pattern, and an off tackle run is an off tackle run, and the difference is only in the pre snap look the team gives. The statue of Liberty and the Annexation of Puerto Rico are not standards for other teams.

I remember reading after the Rams game that far and away most of the plays the Rams offense ran were plays the Cowboys run, except that the Rams disguised them better with some shifts and motion. I suspect that's what Moore is looking to do - make it harder for defenses to read.

Excellent points......good post!

With more talent to work with on both sides of the ball, Moore should conceivably do well enough to be competitive against tougher competition this year than we've seen in many previous years. How many wins this season might offer is yet to be determined, as usual.

Much will depend upon our injuries, of course and if Elliott is suspended for his recent incident with that stumbling security guard. Losing our best RB for multiple games could easily be devastating to an otherwise successful season. Hopefully, a better talent level on both sides of the ball should count for something meaningful for this team's improvement. Hopefully, Kellen Moore will improve upon our offense being less predictable.

Otherwise, there's the question of how long it'll take for the offense to get acclimated to the changes brought on by new language and schematic tweaks. The unknowns to be dealt with in the upcoming season will be significant, just as they've been many times in the past. In view of the tough competition of this year's schedule, it presents a formidable challenge, no doubt.

Everything relies on the players, because our O coaching does not contribute to the team .

Might as well have a mascot clapping on the sidelines & call him head coach, because he 'motivates' .

The issue wasn't the plays. It was the disguise and gameplanning. All the RPO and PA stuff is already in, they just need to be called more than 13% of the time. Motion and formations are more key imo and can be differed within the same play.
"Disguise and gameplanning" is what makes NFL offenses work. This is a massive shift.

And no, motion and formations only matter if you change the play after motion tells you what a defense is doing. Pre-snap anything only matters if you adjust the playcall based on the defense. Motion for the sake of motion accomplishes nothing.

Didn't say that they can't. I specifically said that I'm open to it.

What I said was that there is no evidence. What evidence is there of this offense being capable of making significant philosophical changes and executing them well, other than offseason quotes? Could it happen, sure, but there is nothing to say that it will, so any prediction that it will is based on just hope.

Jason Garrett, specifically, is only in the league because of Tony Romo. So...yea.
when KM was at Boise State under CP they did not just practice plays till they got them right, they practiced them till they couldn't get them wrong, BIG DIFFERENCE

1st play...bomb to Gallup ... TD...OMG this offense is fantastic, Dak is the man, worth every penny...16-0
Zeke gets a 0 yard gain...this offense sucks, same old JG crap, Moore sucks...0-16

1st incomplete pass...Dak sucks, I told you he is not worth all that money....0-16
Zeke breaks a 79 yard TD run...this offense is great, OL is back, 16-0
You've obviously been keeping tabs on my past postings.

Great post. Another thing nobody mentions about the genius Rams is that on one of those motion plays it caused a fumble when Goff ran into a WR. They recovered it but if they hadn't it would have put Dallas right back into the game.

The Rams ran a much better scheme, especially with their OL. No question. But if Woods and Collins are health in that game it would have been a very close game. Its a lot easier to look like a genius when your opponent has starting DTs on the field that need surgery.

I watched an interview with Randall Cobb earlier where he indicated much of what the Cowboys run is the same as Green Bay, and that his difficulty is just in learning the new terminology.
