I know he is a great person, so he's happy for team success. But Im sure part of him knows that this is the beginning of the end. Dak is the future, and it may be as early as next year. Not saying I'd choose Dak over Romo this year, but Dak pressures a defense in ways that Romo can't: with his arm and legs. And it's a mobile QB/young man's game. If I were Romo, part of me would be depressed that I may lose my job and not see the end of my contract for the Cowboys. I feel for the guy because he deserves better.

i do too. normally don't care about millionaire athletes feelings, but romo is a legit good person and has always taken the punches perfectly.

I've got nothing but love for tony romo the player. and nothing but respect for tony romo, the person.

Dak is on the bench when he comes back. And probably the back up for as long as Romo is on the team. Best case scenario: We win the super bowl this year and Romo calls it quits.

What if Romo plays mediocre? Is it an open competition next year in training camp?

I would say that there's no way we're going back to Romo. But then I remember that Jerry Jones treats Romo like his son. But it doesn't matter. Because he'll be injured again in two games, tops.

He wants to be out there, as he is the ultra competitor. It has to suck. But if you watch the end of the game last week Romo looked like he just won the game when the we scored late. He was very excited. He should be, because maybe he won't have to be God when he returns, and turn water into wine!!

Like he lost his job. ZERO excitement for Dak out there when the cameras were on him. He also looked really bothered when Dak got his first rushing TD.

It won't be the same if he ever gets healthy. Putting him back in there with Dak doing so well is a recipe for disaster.

It's a simple question really, do we want to go back to the past 12 years of heartbreak or do we want to continue to build on this excitement and momentum?

Jason Garrett invites Romo out in off-season. There is no way he sits Romo if he is healthy. Not saying I agree or disagree with it but lets not confuse situation.

Tony looked pretty grim tonight from the beginning of the game, so I think it was unrelated to anything happening on the field.

Drew Pearson, who I might add wanted Dak over all the QB's, just said Romo should start when he comes back. He also made a great point, if the offense is doing this well with Dak, what will they be doing with Romo at the helm! The experience Dak is getting is invaluable.

It is getting to be a tougher decision from week to week. If Dak continues to win, I would let Romo practice being an offensive coordinator on the sideline for his next chapter in Dallas :D

I don't know really but this is a good problem to have. I would not let him even attempt to play until he is 100% though. I worry about team chemistry if they do make the switch just because of external factors.

Romo is still a better QB when healthy but Dak's running ability is something that Romo does not have that adds another dimension to this offense.......will be hard losing that one.

Excellent points. I would love nothing more than for Dak and Romo to hold up that trophy together... How sweet that would be. Romo in his prime however, is not as good as rookie Dak.... ALL things considered. Old and frail Romo... This is not even a close comparison.

I just want to see Dallas win and Dak clearly gives us our best chance.

After we beat San Fran and go 3-1 just to drop two games in a row against solid teams, this place is going to be screaming from Romo.

I'm not putting this on Dak, Dak is someone with a bright future, but he is not a QB who is going to win you shootouts. This D isn't getting better this year, it is what it is even when Lawrence gets back. Romo can win you shootouts.
