Excellent points. I would love nothing more than for Dak and Romo to hold up that trophy together... How sweet that would be. Romo in his prime however, is not as good as rookie Dak.... ALL things considered. Old and frail Romo... This is not even a close comparison.

I just want to see Dallas win and Dak clearly gives us our best chance.

You had me up to the bolded. Dak has been blessed with playing against some suspect defenses up to this point. NYG I give him a pass the coaching was atrocious. Commanders suspect, Chicagos is barely better than Dallas, SF who knows. I expect Cincy to challenge him hard, GB, and if he is playing during Philly I expect him to see things that he has never seen. I also expect his second time through the division to tougher than the first. The more film you get on a qb the tighter the easier it is to see tendencies. We should feel fortunate that he is not seeing Seattle or Arizona this year, though baltimore and Pitt will be ready for him.

Drew Pearson, who I might add wanted Dak over all the QB's, just said Romo should start when he comes back. He also made a great point, if the offense is doing this well with Dak, what will they be doing with Romo at the helm! The experience Dak is getting is invaluable.

This is it. The big plus is Dak getting this experience.
Our world has done a 180 since the off season began.

After we beat San Fran and go 3-1 just to drop two games in a row against solid teams, this place is going to be screaming from Romo.

I'm not putting this on Dak, Dak is someone with a bright future, but he is not a QB who is going to win you shootouts. This D isn't getting better this year, it is what it is even when Lawrence gets back. Romo can win you shootouts.

I agree, with 30 seconds left and no timeouts there is a good chance Romo gets it within field goal range with time to spare. Dak is not there yet he is methodical right now and their is nothing wrong with that, he is a rookie after all. On side note where are all the "stop running the play clock down to 1 second" whiners. Dak seems to run that clock down to 2 a lot.

I was hoping with all the 'hype' Dak was getting in PS that the team would be involved in some blowouts one way or the other to get Dak some real playing time during garbage time. If Dak can keep the team in contention while getting 3-400 meaning real snaps that is a bonus it will accelerate his progress as opposed to a young gun holding clipboard.

What if Romo plays mediocre? Is it an open competition next year in training camp?

We could be entering some scary waters if/when we hand the reins back to Romo. Remember, Tony will need some time to knock off the rust, get in true game shape and regain his rhythm with a group of guys he won't have played alongside in quite some time.

We saw how out of sync he looked when he rushed back too early against Carolina last year.

The difference this time is there is a promising young QB that will be sitting on the bench. First time he throws a multi-pick game, the home crowd could get ruthless.

Not looking forward to this possibility tbh -- because, again, the dude is human and won't be in peak form the moment he steps back on the field.

You make excellent points, but if every one catches the catchable balls Dak has thrown, Dak more than proves he can win shootouts. But, against a team with both a good offense and defense, the Cowboys could be in trouble, regardless of QB. Eagles merit watching in this regard; if early yields are any indication, the Cowboys very well could have a long day against Philly. Both sides of the ball are going to need to improve. Fortunately, help is on the way. Lawrence alone should be a significant boost aided by a few guys who may have just turned a corner for the Cowboys; Maliek comes to mind. Romo may be back, but if he is he'll need to be at 100%. This is not the game to experiment. If he is hindered in any way, by rust or other, they would be better off with Dak. Not saying he will win, I just think 100% Dak may be better than less than 70% Romo.

Romo seemed to wince when Dak took that hit on the QB sneak TD. I think he wants the young guy behind him to stay healthy and win some games for him until he can get back. On the other hand, I'm sure his career is flashing before his eyes. He'll be the starter again and we'll be reminded why we love him so much. It's a shame the defense continues to let us down. Romo deserves an elite defense before he rides off into the sunset.

It's still crucial that Romo gets healthy ASAP. Why, exactly? Because Mark Sanchez, that's why.

I hate to be that guy, but lets not get ahead of ourselves here..............Dak has beat the Skins and Bears, both sub 500 teams.

Lets see how he does against some of the better teams in the league like Cinci and Packers before we officially make him the new starter over Romo.

Just saying.

Dak is on the bench when he comes back. And probably the back up for as long as Romo is on the team. Best case scenario: We win the super bowl this year and Romo calls it quits.
I don't see this as a Super Bowl caliber team... I think Romo needs to retire.

He is probably thinking that he too can stand in an impenetrable pocket with a 200 yard rushing attack and throw 5 yard passes to Cole Beasley with no one within 3 yards of him... and as a result, is very excited.
If it were that easy why didn't the QBs last year do it?

Watch a defense like Minnesota's and then watch ours...............light years difference............no, we are not going to the SuperBowl with this defense.

Exactly... I don't need a top 5 defense just give me a defense in the top 10 who can generate consistent pressure on the QB and I'll be grateful SMH!

Most of the Cowboy nation and many others have seen plenty enough to call
Dak the future of the Cowboys. We are still in a QB search as soon as Romo
is finished and thats for a quality back up. Isn't that strange.
