I have been pretty critical of Dak, but he played better today. Of course it was against the Bears.

Let’s hope Dak can show us a few of these type of games against more elite, complete teams.

Short but on point. Very good game by him.

And let's be fair here. We don't accept excuses for bad games anymore, at least I won't. So let's give credit where it's due. Except that horrible "Dak trying to be a superhero" interception throw he managed the game well and had some great passes. O line, Tony, not so good defense... ok, ok. But he just played good yesterday.

Ok so.... we beat the same Bears team that beat the 49ers.... and that held Minnesota and the Packers under 30 points.....

OUR offense put up 42 on them..... hmmm....

The Dak homies want Dak showered with praise today, and I will admit he had a good game. That's what you should expect from a 40 mil QB. But lets be real, he wasn't the reason the team won. The real star yesterday was Pollard.

:hammer:....and in a perverse way it was beneficial that the CeeDee throw was picked off as Dak/KM (or combination) went back to what was working rather trying to create some passing highlight reel.

It was a risky throw, but CD has to make a play on that ball and at least break it up. A guy like Jefferson or Chase turns that throw into a td.

Hah, I wrote the exact same thing in another thread.

They wanted to leave the path of "dull" success by doing something crazy after that turning the tide moment right before. And it backfired big time.

They understood. And went back to what has been working since game 2. Cudos to Dak and Kellen for being able to correct a mistake instantly.

Actually you're still supporting the point against making that throw or playing that game. Why make such a throw if you dont have a receiving corp that are able to break up the errant 50/50 throw?

Play the game to suit your players ...QB and receiving corp.

Dak: 21 of 27 passes, 77.8% completions, 250 passing yards, 2 passing TDs, 1 rushing TD, 1 INT, 1 sack, 114.5 passer rating.

Well done, Dak. That's all you need to do. Way to earn your pay. Good game management results like this will take the Cowboys far.

This. No fancy stuff. Or let's say, no fancy stuff unless we're desperate. We've been in control of games since game 2. And even against the Eagles we were never really completely out of the game.

Come play off time we might need some crazy ingenious Dak moments, but until then, just be in control.

Dak can be very good if the team is set up right and he’s used the right way. Against the Bears he was used the right way and the team was set up for him to succeed. Pollard was brilliant, our guards (Martin & Peters) dominated and the TE’s played a big part as both blockers and receivers. I don’t think we’ll see huge games from our receivers but I think he can be efficient.

Yep, cutting down on offensive penalties (and the O-Line in general) will help us keep to the running and short yardage throws (which is Dak's comfort zone and what he's brilliant at doing).

Just need to be able to stop the run and dont panic.

Interesting. Yep thinking about it we now have a TE unit that even allows us to play a 22 personnel. We complain about our receiving corp....well reduce their usage. 124 of Daks 240 throwing yards went to non-WR's

Yeah right, Dak is never the real reason when we win, just the real reason when we lose.

He did.

I would like to see the All-22 on that interception throw intended to CeeDee.

I don’t know how he didn’t see the safety (Jackson) playing back. I think he just may have thought he had the arm to beat Jackson to the point. CeeDee didn’t look like he gave much effort their either from the broadcast angle.

So whichever perspective you want to look at it...be it errant throw or a WR who doesnt put his body on the line. Why play such a game (with a Safety in the vicinity)....throw to your TE/RB outs and move the chains.

In 2016 Beasley was our top receiver with just over 830 yards. Non receivers probably made up 1/3 of total yards received. It’s a good precedent IMO.
