I was surprised that Dak did play really good this game, some nice passes and a few nice runs.

You appear to think i'm criticizing Dak? No, what i'm saying is that he looks great when he finds the short yard throw to TE/RB (EG Schultz who's always been one of his favorite targets always has, and probably always will). He's not the kind of QB that's best throwing into coverage....so why do it (and that's just as much on KM as it is Dak or CeeDee).

I agree that one interception doesnt lose a game, however, we saw the momentum change and brought the Bears back to within 5 pts. What we need to stop is this idea that we move on from what we're good (and comfortable doing)....once we reverted back to the run/short throw game we got back to dominating.

It's not blame on Dak, KM or CeeDee....just stick to our strengths.

I don't think you are criticizing Dak just providing your opinion. But indicating that Dak is not the kind of quarterback that is best throwing into coverage is not even a consideration. Fundamentally you don't want any quarterback throwing into coverage, even if they are more accurate than another. But there are isolated play exceptions to the rule. We fans are not on the field, nor do we watch game tape as players and coaches do, which is far more revealing.
Did Dak's t interception change the momentum of the game? To a degree, yes, but how do you compare it to other momentum changes throughout the game caused by others on offense, defense, special teams and not just the starting quarterbacks of either team and even coaching decisions for that matter?

I would say the offense and the first 4 drives literally were the biggest momentum shift in the game and in the end never got topped.

I have been pretty critical of Dak, but he played better today. Of course it was against the Bears.

Let’s hope Dak can show us a few of these type of games against more elite, complete teams.

You are right. He played much better than against Detroit.

Still the gameplan from Moore came back to what he is able to do: simplest reads (just read the safety. And only if he moves to the planned side) and only one go to aim to throw the ball to. Everything else asking from him is way too much for Prescott. Just look at the GL play in the first half 2nd and 2 where the TE slipped. His only target was gone the play was designed for. What did Prescott do. Got nervous didint know what to do and in the end overthrew on wide open WR in the endzone.

Give the guy a plan that is very simple and tell him exactly where to move and when and to whom to throw. Never let him handle the game on his own. Then against weak defenses he cann score at will. Forget him when the defense is able to take his first target away.

So for an Bad NFL QB Prescott looked good and had a good game.

Dak was Offensive Rookie of the Year at this position, led the team to a couple of division titles, has made pro-bowls, has an overall 53-33 win-loss record, a 98.5 passer rating and is considered by many NFL execs as a Top 10 quarterback - I think at the back end of that Top 10 ranking. Dak certainly is not the best of the best or an elite quarterback but he is a very good quarterback. Characterizing him as a bad NFL quarterback is not just a skewed opinion, it is not factual.

The Bears have one of the worst pass rushes in the NFL. So, Dak had plenty of time to pick them apart. GB will be a MUCH bigger challenge.

I thought he played well and looked sharp. I'll say it again, Dak isn't the reason this team struggles. If anything, we've seen what Pollard can do and while I am not ready to cut Zeke loose, we do need to use Pollard more. And the passing side, Gallup still isn't ready. We need Speed. Can Turpin catch? We need to test his speed on a few go routes.
I started this thread to give some credit to Dak, because I have been pretty critical of Dak at times. I try to look at things objectively and that includes Dak.

Your statement “Dak isn’t the reason this team struggles” is often not an accurate statement. Dak is OFTEN the cause of the slow starts on offense. Dak has really underperformed against stronger teams. For the most part, it’s a trend with Dak that he feasts on the bad teams and struggles against better defenses. A lot of that is DIRECTLY because of Dak’s poor play.

Hopefully, Dak will start performing better against the better teams and reverse that trend. Most Cowboys fans are rooting for Dak.

I know that I would like to see more of the Dak we saw against the Bears and a LOT less of the Dak we saw against the Bucs in game 1 of his season.

It was refreshing to see Dak run the ball with purpose rather than only on a play breaking down. Dak needs to keep defenses honest by running the ball a few times per game.

I stand by my statement. Dak is not an elite quarterback and with that, you are going to get inconsistent play from him. It's what he is. With Romo, we've had the same results. So in essence, look for the constants. When you determine that, you'll see that it isn't the QB position but something else entirely.
