News: Dak Prescott has hit his ceiling as a quarterback

You have just derailed your own thread, well done.
I'm just after legitimate discussion, not a victory...that's all.:)

If someone values being a jerk, that is upon him/or his good buddies as well.

My only comment to you now, Mr. 'oh so right high grounds,'...is when one stands on an entrance island at a gate entrance, wear steel toed boots instead of a preppie's sandals. It's really safer...good bye. You have a long history if just stereotype with little discussive exchange. You won't play fair...tough guy. Your words, not mine.. as I have fully explained context. You ignore that point and are here ignored, unless you really want an argument, stud!

Thank you for your service, seriously.

That said, I think you have me confused for someone else (really), but observing from afar (have we ever had an interaction?), you really have a tendency to "bow up" too often, IMO.

How was I not being "discussive"?

You made a statement, and I merely pointed out, thereby "discussing" how silly it sounded, given the game that Dak just had — 289 yards (again with some drops). Now, had you made that statement after week two, after a 160 yard performance, then it would've made more sense.

You said you'd be "content" (your words, not mine) but you're clearly not, so it's a confusing stance, unless of course, you want to use the 12 yard technicality as an out. It's your right to do so but again, a little silly, IMO.

We're actually back in the playoff hunt, until we're not, so enjoy the ride, man.

Dak Prescott has hit his ceiling as a quarterback

...The numbers indicate Prescott is having a slightly better season in Year Three than in 2017, with a higher passer rating (93.2), completion percentage (65.2) and only five interceptions through 11 games. Still, anyone who watched Prescott play against the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving saw the young quarterback’s shortcomings.

The 25-year old still struggles with accuracy, overthrowing his receivers at times and sending passes into the turf on others. Prescott’s vision as a passer must also be questioned as he’s often very slow in making his reads, requiring extra time in the pocket his patchwork offensive line is often unable to give him.

One of the best examples of Prescott’s lack of development from Thursday’s win over Washington was late in the second quarter. Dallas had the ball on the Commanders four-yard line with 1:42 left in the first half, and the score tied at seven...

...Prescott and this coaching staff in Dallas have had three years to improve his fundamentals, his footwork, his accuracy and his vision as a passer. And, for the most part, all we’ve seen is a regression from his rookie season. Prescott continues to show us who he is and who he isn’t. Maybe it’s time more people started believing in the player that he is, and not the one they hope he’ll become.

twisted spin, even calls it "news"

best tight window passer since entering the NFL - but this cluck declares him inaccurate
best vs the blitz since entering the NFL and only one 3 INT outing in 43 NFL games - but this cluck swears Dak's reads are slow
the only 2 QBs have more wins since Dak came in the NFL - Big Ben and Brady (SB winning 10y+ vets in serious orgs) - but this cluck declares a ceiling

"all we’ve seen is a regression from his rookie season" - the words of blind clucker
since the bye Dak's completed 70% of passes, 5 TDs, 1 INT, and 3 rushing TDs - despite a NFL high 15 sacks

You have very little correct upon what is my opinion on Dak, the status of the current Cowboys, or where I would stand considering both....separate issue. This aspect, I again remind you for the third time.

I posted an OP that was ripe for discussion, not opinions set in concrete. Hey, I can justify any stance that one may choose, but that isn't what I am about.

This is what you posted:

I merely pointed out how silly that sounded, especially in light of the fact that there were some drops which clearly would've hit your "magic" number of "300+"

So, I also pointed out how — given your declaration of your contentment of Dak standards — you should, in fact, be "content."

So, take your technicality and move on down the road of discontent I guess.

(Laughing to self)

This was already provided on the post that you chose:

Total is strong but only under a hundred yards were not thrown to Cooper. No, I don't yet feel strong sentiments on passing yardage. If Coooper puts together some 100+ games, then I'll stand to and pay much closer attention to throwing skills.

This you too conveniently leave out in what you then offered as your grasp of my stance....and that was obviously in your cherry picking of analysis.

Why did you chose to post as you did, when a fuller explanation was already given?

I have explained my involvements on thread, and have been very defining in my approach.

What, you above taking a person for how he presents a discussion, not taking a progression of talking from a single response in an already developing exchange? Now claim you need an interpreter for what was just stated. You didn't need that in one's declaration of previous intent. If that is angry sounding...check one's own motive then.

First off, I like three consecutive wins. That is translatable progress. That is fan satisfaying, as well as adding positives all up and down the Dallas offense.

On a previous posting, before the Washington game, I predicted 100+ yards for both Zeke and Cooper. That would have required a positive game from Dak Prescott as well...just to keep context in line again.

Myself, I like the Cowboys. I keep a directional evaluation open for a final, and after action analysis.

To understand all involved for a final analysis, one has to continually collect data for that evaluation. That was what the initial OP was all about. Not high ground or an excuse to go off on someone. Disagreement may be for a number of reasons, and on this site, often includes agenda as the primary element that is pushed. That, although, is not my chosen course. I will defend what I state, as well I should.

I participated in a ton of after action reports while in service. Yes, I do thank you for acknowledging my service...but the merit of the process is my point.

Thank you for a discussion, but on topic, a lot more has to be observed, and rooted for as well.

Dak's not there yet, but he does have some solid NFL skills...for my present view.

He had a pretty sweet game winning drive last week. He has had 12 of them in his 2 1/2 year career so far. With that being said I still am on the fence as far as trusting him to carry the team consistently.

Why do we want a young QB to carry our team and please tell me over the past 20 years how many young QBs have successfully carried their teams? Super Bowl wins? The only way we need this to happen is if we're incredibly bad at building a roster. Young QBs don't carry teams and ones usually asked to do so fail miserably even highly drafted talents.
Surround your QB with AS MUCH TALENT AS POSSIBLE.

All sounds good, I guess, but I didn't read the entire thread nor did I note and accumulate which posts/stats are yours.

I saw one post — which you put out there — and simply commented on how confusing it was to state that you'd be content with a "300+" game "sprinkled here and there" when Dak just sprinkled in a 289 yard game…………yesterday…………on national TV…………for everyone to see. Yesterday.

So, either you misspoke about actually being content (which is perfectly fine) or you're just being hyperbolic or overly critical.

I was merely pointing out the irony.

All that said, I agree that Dak has plenty of room for growth, and much like you, I have no clue as to if he can rise to the challenge or not.

And who is a top-flight QB coach? This whole "OMG THE QB COACH SUCKS" narrative is old and silly.
Kellen Moore is the youngest QB coach in the league. He had ZERO experience as a coach. I've never said OMG or THE QB COACH SUCKS. You are beyond overly dramatic. That sky is falling narrative doesn't belong to me. I'd be all in on the Kellen Moore coaching wagon if it looked like he was making a difference. Perhaps he is. But, I would have definitely tried to find someone with some previous coaching experience and success. I don't know who was available.

I already explained why that holds no truth, and you continue to declare other wise, arrogantly. Merely? You earned total ignore by myself now...good bye. You are a liar...and quote your own agenda, and out of context.

I told you what I did do, and you chose to ignore all but a contextually incomplete rendering...by choice.

No, you ignored all and called me a liar to boot...that I won't accept or take. Unless you want an argument in the future, don't bother to even pick me up as YOUR target again...for the record.

I went back and read my post and realized I missed something, so I added it.

I guess you missed it, but I added:

As for you putting me on ignore, I guess I'll have to find a way to continue living.

You really bragging for a medal? As is your way, you always leave a 'tad' out...

From this past game, this warrants consideration, moving forward:

...After getting behind early in the second half, Dallas’ offense came alive to beat the Commanders 31-23 and take first place in the NFC East. Specifically, the Dak Prescott to Amari Cooper connection finally hit their stride. With the Cowboys giving up a short field and a touchdown to Washington to lose the lead, the Cowboys responded with a Prescott to Cooper 40-yard strike to take the lead back. Cooper got open on an in-cut, broke free after the catch and outran the defense.

It was a big response from the Cowboys and their big in-season acquisition. The fun didn’t stop there. After being pinned deep in their own zone, Prescott hit Cooper again over the middle and again he broke free, this time going 90-yards for the score.

These are the types of plays the Cowboys wanted from Cooper when they traded for him. They needed a number one option, a go-to receiver and Cooper responded with his first huge game in Dallas. Aside from the two scores, Cooper had four other catches for first downs to keep the offense on the field...

Are you okay? Seriously.

A.) At what point did I call you a liar? Show it right now.
B.) Did you or did you not say that you would be content with a "300+" yard game "sprinkled" in here and there?
B.2.) If you did, THEN WHY AREN'T YOU "CONTENT" WITH A 289 YARD GAME? I'm just curious. I didn't put words in your mouth. You said it.
C.) I'm not "targeting" you, but I am "targeting" a statement that you made that you now seem to be backtracking on.
D.) Finally, where am I "bragging for a medal?" Heck, I don't even know what that means. I was actually trying deescalate things and trying to find some common ground on Dak.

Dak Prescott has hit his ceiling as a quarterback

There's a conceptual problem in claiming Dak has a ceiling lower than what he's already done as a rookie.

His rookie year is the floor of his ceiling. He can be at least that good, because he has been that good.

You're wasting your time with him. Trust me.

His hatred for Dak makes him blind to what Dak has already accomplished.

It's a valid point. Kellen had zero coaching experience and may be he is doing a good job or not, hard to tell by Dak's development. The issue is placing that much faith on a "coach" with no experience to mentor and teach a young struggling QB. Moore would probably be fine as a QB Coach to a Vet QB that needs less work on mechanics or learning NFL concepts. Colombo was just promoted to OL Coach, and while not having a ton of experience he does have a few years coaching experience, but they also brought in Houck as a consultant to help. Why not the same addition of a consultant for the QB Coach, someone that has experience in teaching and coaching fundamentals and mechanics? There isn't a cap on number of coaches or consultants, money is not an issue, so why not have someone experienced to be on staff to work with him on a daily/weekly basis? As important the QB position and the decision and consequences in extending money and time to a QB, it makes sense to have the best quality resources available.
