Does it though?
Romo/Dak just happen to be the only duo to accomplish this feat and it's the teams fault?
The lack of talent at the most important position in sports matters.
Well, there was a long drought between Staubach and Aikman, during which the talent level had dropped to such a degree that Jimmy thought his Miami team may have beaten the Cowboys. Between Aikman and Romo another long drought. QBs worse than Romo and Dak have been to conference championships and Super Bowls. Unlike some who love his stats, I never viewed Romo as elite because of his poor leadership (Cabo) and big time mistakes, though I always held out hope he would get us there as he matured. Dak is not an elite talent, but he is not preventing us from winning. The last two playoff losses to SF were not to better QBs, but better teams and coaching staffs. Both QBs have endured pathetic defenses, questionable OLs, and sometimes a lack of receiving talent.
It appears as if it has taken decades of failure and Mike McCarthy to finally convince Jerry that we cannot win without complimentary football. Jerry is finally paying attention to the defense, especially DB depth, LBs, and DTs. He is finally realizing that the OL needs depth as well as speed at WR.
What will be our undoing this year? Depth at WR? Lack of a veteran backup QB? Unproven depth/short yardage RB? Unproven TEs? It’s always something with Jerry, including two different years of garbage at WR.
