Romo came into a nice situation with Parcells and Payton as his coaches. With T.O and Witten to throw to. That team was most definitely suppose to compete that year, I don't know what you talking about. Dak came to a 4-12 team with Garrett as his coach lol. It's OK for both of them to be good. The team that Prescott inherited in 2016 and the team Romo inherited in 2006 were on opposite sides of the spectrum.
The 2016 offense had the best OL in both Prescott's and Romo's careers. Elliott was the offensive player of the year. The table was set, but Dallas lost in divisional.
The 2006 team wasn't even supposed to compete. Bledsoe was floundering and Romo injected energy into the team. The next year was Romo's second best behind 2014. But it was Romo that was driving the team.
That's the difference. Romo was the catalyst for the team. While 2016 was driven by the OL and Elliott.
How's this. When Dallas was trailing I always thought Dallas had a chance because they had Romo. When Dallas is trailing now I have doubts that Prescott could pull out a win.
It could be just me, but I don't have the confidence in Prescott that I used to have with Romo.
Dak Prescott is roughly at 25k (24,943) career passing yards for the Dallas Cowboys after 7 seasons (6 full seasons of play; 1 season loss total due to injuries).
Tony Romo is the Dallas Cowboys all-time passing leader with 34,183 passing yards after 11 seasons (9 full seasons of play; 2 seasons lost due to injuries).
If Dak stays healthy and gets a contract extension, he would only need to average a very doable and well balanced 3,200 passing yards the next 3 seasons to accumulate enough passing yards to break Romo's franchise passing yards total record by about 300 yards.
Will Dak break Romo's career franchise passing record and become the Dallas Cowboys career leader in passing yards?
Nowadays for sure, like you said with all the players that opt out and plus with the pro bowl before the super bowl now. Back then it meant more for sure. All Pro is top ~5%. Pro bowl is top ~25% once you consider people that opt out.
Pro bowl is not as prestigious by far but people act like it doesn't matter which is flat wrong.
Some of those plays where Romo was creating something out of nothing. Put Dak behind the line that had Andre Gurode snapping and Dak will likely be retired .To be fair to Romo. If you put Aikman behind some of the OL Romo had to play behind he probably would have retired earlier than he did lol.
Lmao! Another Romo apologist. You mean the same Romo who twice (2011 & 2013) with the last game of the season and the playoffs on the line absolutely choked and threw the playoffs away? There is more but I don't want you to go nuts with historical facts.Who cares???????????? Wentz 2.0 hasn't had a decent season since 2016 and with the way he played last season it's all over but the crying. Wentz 2.0 is nothing more than an over hyped, overpaid, less than mediocre slap who doesn't have the ability to take his play to the next level. At least when Romo went into a big game you knew he had a chance to pull out a victory, with WENTZ 2.0 you wait for the other shoe to drop when he's in the back field.
Funny how you are critical of Romo choking and yet are a-ok with Precott crapping the bed against the 49-ers for the last two years.Lmao! Another Romo apologist. You mean the same Romo who twice (2011 & 2013) with the last game of the season and the playoffs on the line absolutely choked and threw the playoffs away? There is more but I don't want you to go nuts with historical facts.
So you're calling Mike Martz a liar? You're saying you know football better than Mike Martz? You're saying you know who's to blame for an INT more than Mike Martz?Funny how you are critical of Romo choking and yet are a-ok with Precott crapping the bed against the 49-ers for the last two years.
Yea. I'm calling Martz a liar.So you're calling Mike Martz a liar? You're saying you know football better than Mike Martz? You're saying you know who's to blame for an INT more than Mike Martz?
Did he not come to a 4-12 team? Telling us you're not a fan without telling us you're not a fan.You guys and your ridiculous "Dak came to a 4-12 team" shtick.
Telling us you don't have a clue without telling us you don't have a clue.
You did see Jaylon in there though. All Pro is a better indicator the best players in the league but Pro Bowl is typically good players. You didn’t see a Jeff Heath make a Pro Bowl.
Huh? Andre Gurode was a much better center than Biadicz is I don't know what you're talking about lol. Some of those plays where Romo was creating something out of nothing. Put Dak behind the line that had Andre Gurode snapping and Dak will likely be retired .
Jaylon that year was Pro Bowl worthy.......You did see Jaylon in there though.
To a simpleton who is incapable of seeing the big picture and is to lazy to peel the layers back.... Sure.Did he not come to a 4-12 team? Telling us you're not a fan without telling us you're not a fan.
Hilarious. At least you're honest bro.Yea. I'm calling Martz a liar.
Did you forget about the erratic snaps?Huh? Andre Gurode was a much better center than Biadicz is I don't know what you're talking about lol.
Yes he had some but he was a damn good player especially the time Romo was under center. He was a All Pro lol. I mean if you want to knock his linemen try the Nate LIvings and Bernadeau era. I don't think Gurode is the one to do.Did you forget about the erratic snaps?
