If Dak were as good as the Ultra Crusaders say he is...why wouldn't another team take him in a heartbeat?

"Romo, very quietly, is probably the best fourth-quarter quarterback during his time in the NFL. Since 2006, no quarterback in the league as more fourth-quarter comeback victories (25), and his passer rating in the fouth-quarter is an astronomical 102.9. Romo has also led 30 game-winning drives, and has a higher quarterback rating in December (133.7) than any other quarterback in the history of the league.

"He’s also been a pretty decent quarterback in quarters one, two and three. Romo has the fourth-highest passer rating in NFL history, and has thrown 248 touchdowns versus just 117 interceptions. In his least two healthy seasons (2013-14), Romo three 65 touchdown passes and just 19 interceptions."

"The statistics don't lie, and the bottom line is that since 2006, nobody has a higher passer rating in the fourth quarter than Tony Romo according to NFL.com. He also has an impressive resume of 19 fourth-quarter comebacks and 22 game-winning drives"

Why lie?
People beyond ridiculous. Then they think he choked as much as Dak in the playoffs as they share similar records without looking deeper into the stats and games.

Seattle....Romo ooof.... still leading at half and going into 4th

Vikings...entire team got ran through. Romo looked like poo too and 1 Int

Giants...Crayton single handily cost us the game with two potential TD drops. We also dropped another pass in the redzone. We should have coasted to an easy two score win. Also giants defense was elite in the playoffs and never gave up more then 20 points and led the league in sacks and fumbles. Tied at half and leading into the 4th

Packers....had 140+ rating and better qbr then Rodgers but happened to get robbed on one of the worst calls ever in the playoffs. Leading going into half time and fourth

Then dak
Packers vs cowboys 2016....down two scores at half and down 3(or 2 depending on 2pt conversion)going into 4th

Rams vs cowboys...down at half by 2 scores and down going into 4th. Dak actually played good however TG and CJA ran through us all game in a disgusting manor. Not Daks fault

Both Niner games....Defense did its job and Dak and the offense failed

Packers vs cowboys....team sucked all around and Dak was also part of the huge problem with turnovers and points given.

So while they share similar post season records not even on the same planet on who played better. Romo had us leading going into the half and the 4th in his losses besides the Vikings game. Dak on the other hand we were down every game at half and entering 4th sometimes by multiple scores.

Our defense was CRAP in the games we got blown out. It puts a strain on your offense/QB when you’re getting manhandled defensively. Granted our offense wasn’t good either but I put most of the blame on our defense. In the games we got takeaways and special teams scores we were dominant on both sides of the ball. However, we clearly have some issues offensively when we get behind by seven or more. We can’t seem to get anything going and our defense collapses. Hard to overcome a deficit when your defense can’t make a stop or get a turnover.
Geeze, Imagine if Purdy fell apart when the Lions had a huge lead.
Or Mahomes fell apart when down by 10 against SF.

If being down 7-0 with 3 1/3 quarters left in the game is too much of a strain for the young man, he should give the money back and go get a job waiting tables.

Go rewatch the game and look at the plays they made on defense especially Bosa. Their defense didn’t fold when they got punched in the mouth, they punched back. Bosa did more in that one game against Detroit than Parsons has done in 4 playoff games. Bosa had 2 sacks and 4 QB hits. In 4 playoff games, Parsons only has one sack and 4 QB hits and he’s going to want to be the highest paid defensive player in the league. It hasn’t nearly been all on Dak for why the Cowboys couldn’t overcome small deficits this season. They overcame an 8 point deficit against Seattle and had the offense not been rolling they would’ve gotten blown out in that one. I said after that game if our offense isn’t clicking, we’re going to be in real trouble when the playoffs get here. You could see the cracks forming with the defense.

And every year there are excuses as to why we can’t do that.
It’s a good excuse or would you rather release him and take our chances with Rush, Lance and a draft pick? What are the odds one of them will be better?

Think this job would also be above his skill set.
Something in the PR world might work as he has a knack for BS.

We all know the team has many weaknesses. He is one of them.

His career numbers and winning percentage say you’re wrong. No QB is going overcome the teams the Joneses keep putting together. Romo couldn’t and neither can Dak. Doubt we would have won 8 games without Dak this season.

We can’t move on from Dak til we have a solid replacement, but there are always excuses why we can’t look for a solid replacement. Comprende?

At least it hasn’t been 8 years and counting looking for a QB like some teams.
Your way of thinking insults the 5 Superbowl trophies we have and our proud history.
Sorry but even though it's been almost 30 years of hunger we are not going to turn into the Browns or Falcons (Just being happy they made the playoffs) because of a QB who has proven he doesn't have what it takes for Cowboy glory!!

Wow, 37 pages about Dak:laugh:

I think at this point everything that could be said, has been said.

I do want to thank everybody that has kept this discussion civil. Too many times discussions like this one (especially about Dak) turn into name calling and insult contests. There is no need for that, we can all have different viewpoints on what is best and we should be able to discuss those differing viewpoints in a civil manner towards each other.

No, it's not empty stats....just historical and no longer relevant to the Dak of today. Over the past 3 years its become his Achilles Heel.....and teams know it and plan accordingly.
so can the same not be said about Romo? neither had success in post season, when it counts. its empty stats.
