Dak Prescott is poised to break several Dallas Cowboys franchise passing records in 2025

You forgot to mention Dak playing very well in the wildward playoff win at home against the Seahawks in 2019.

He also played well the following week in the divisional playoff loss against the Rams in 2019.

VerVer

Very well in the Seattle win? 223 yards passing, only 1 td and an int. Zeke ran for 137 yards, defense held Seattle to 73 yards rushning. Dallas won in spite of Dak, not because of what he did.

And the Rams game? 266 yards passing and 1 td. Not bad, but very well? If you say so, I don't.

But that's fine, let's revisit at the end of Dak's contract and see how he does...

You forgot to mention Dak also ran for a TD vs Seahawks, so that makes 2 TDs he contributed in that game.

Let's not confuse piling up stats in today's Madden-version, fantasy football, offense-first NFL as a comparison to QBs or any other position of yesteryear. Today, there are more than a dozen wide receivers and tight ends who easily eclipse the number of yards and receptions than Drew Pearson's best season. Roger Staubach averaged 173 yards passing per regular season game during his career - Aikman averaged 200 yards. Roger threw a total of 153 TDs in his 11 year career which averages out to about 14 TDs per season. By today's standards, Roger and likely Troy wouldn't start for most teams - they would be considered "bus drivers." However, Roger, Troy, and Drew all are all in the Hall of Fame, Ring of Honor, and SB champions.
Roger, Troy and Drew would have had more completions, if that's what they were asked to do...and if they had more games per season. They won the way they had to win, just as they probably would do in today's league.

You used to be one of his biggest supporters, JC. You've gone to the dark side. Smh
I will still support him as he is our QB. I do not think they needed to extend him at the time, and should have played out his contract. Then go from there.
My confidence in him, for lack of a better word, has fallen off.

And I was never 100% ALL IN on him either. I kept waiting for him to make me feel than 60 to 70% he is the guy.

They would eclipse every QB but Brady and Mahomes out there today. why? first off because back then defenses could knock the crap out of you on every down. Secondly, the game was more about power offense and rushing.
Now games are like Dolphins v Chargers of the 80s. Fouts v Moreno, tons of yards and points

Oh, wow, 1 yard goal line td, whoopie. Now if he'd run 40 yards for a td, that'd be something.

He had a decent game, not disputing that, but was hardly the reason they won.

Like I said, let's revisit him at the end of his career and see what he did then....

You still on Dak's nuts? The fraud is done, over, the end for him. What he did in the past is nothing to be so overjoyed about. He is broken mentally, physically and will not last the season. Like Aikman said, "Get real...!"

Dak is your QB for the next 4 years. You can continue to complain about it or you can accept it like an adult.

Dak is known as a Lantern, he needs to be carried and is not to bright.

I'll complain for as long as he is the QB, if that is four years, so be it, if it's less, that even better. But, you carry on with that love fest for as long as he is the loser QB of the Cowboys. Dak loves fans like you.

You have been sucked!

In 2025, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is poised to break several franchise passing records, including potentially surpassing Tony Romo for all-time passing yards, passing touchdowns and becoming the team's winningest quarterback.

Here's a breakdown of Prescott's current standing and potential record-breaking achievements:

  • All-Time Passing Yards Leader:
Dak Prescott is currently third in Cowboys history for passing yards (31,471), behind Troy Aikman (32,942) and Tony Romo (34,183).

Prescott is within reach (2,713) of surpassing Romo for the all-time lead in passing yards.

With a career average of 258.4 yards per game, he could pass Aikman in 5 starts and Romo in 10 starts.

Dak Prescott has the potential to also threaten Romo's franchise record (4,903), having thrown for 4,902 yards in 2019, one yard shy of Romo's single-season record.

  • All-Time Passing Touchdown Leader:
Dak Prescott is currently second in Cowboys history in touchdowns (213), behind Tony Romo (248). Prescott is within 36 touchdowns of becoming the Cowboys franchise all-time Touchdown leader, something he could accomplish in 2025 thanks in part to having thrown for a franchise single season TD record (37) back in 2021 and (36) in 2023.

  • Winningest Regular Season Quarterback:
Prescott is also on track to become the franchise's winningest quarterback in the regular season.

He is currently 15 wins from tying Aikman. In a 17 game 2025 season, Dak would have to lead the Cowboys to a 16 - 1 record to become the winningest regular season leader in franchise history.

When it comes to all-time most wins (regular season + postseason) in Dallas Cowboys franchise history, Troy Aikman & Roger Staubach (tied) are the franchise leaders by far (94), followed by Tony Romo (92), Danny White (91), then Dak Prescott (76).
Every modern QB is breaking their respective franchises passing records. Plus they get more games to do it.

I'm trying so hard not to...I can't...I wno't.....I don't even know what to say. But...

- What's the franchise record for slowest roll out
- What's the franchise record for number of hobbles between the tunnel and first huddle?
- The man may legitimately get killed this year---questionable OL, no WR2, no RB1

The most important record to fan of 45 yards will not be reached as long as Jerry owns the team, and Dak is our QB. Harsh reality

I have no idea where all that came from. There is nothing wrong the OL. If you don't feel there is a WR2 on the roster that's fine the Cowboys will likely add another. And they will add a RB1 in the next 6 months also.

So no, he won't legitimately get killed this year.
