I don't think you remember what you said. Here is your quote:
"Right, but that still doesn't mean those teams since 1979 were not capable of passing for 4,000+ yards since at least 1 or more did. Those other teams simply chose not to."
Your quote implies that EVERY team should have been capable of passing for over 4,000+ yards since those other teams simply chose not to do so. Those are your own words. I said that you cannot prove that, and stated that some teams either didn't have the personnel or scheme to pass for 4,000+ yards. There is no way to prove that every team could have passed for 4,000+ yards if they chose to do so. Somehow, you don't understand this rather easy concept.
Last year, teams like the Pats, Bears, Giants, and Browns passed for well under 4,000 yards. By your reasoning, they simply chose not to do so---completely ignoring that those teams flat out sucked personnel-wise, the real reason they didn't have a good passing attack. On the other hand, Philly (3100+ yards passing) chose not to pass that much because they had a great running attack. Do you see the difference between Philly and the other teams I mentioned? One has excellent personnel that let them play anyway they wanted, while the other four teams couldn't because they were ***. Or do you still believe that those teams didn't pass for 4,000+ yards because they, in your own words, "chose not to do so?"
