In 2025, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is poised to break several franchise passing records, including potentially surpassing Tony Romo for all-time passing yards, passing touchdowns and becoming the team's winningest quarterback.

Here's a breakdown of Prescott's current standing and potential record-breaking achievements:

  • All-Time Passing Yards Leader:
Dak Prescott is currently third in Cowboys history for passing yards (31,471), behind Troy Aikman (32,942) and Tony Romo (34,183).

Prescott is within reach (2,713) of surpassing Romo for the all-time lead in passing yards.

With a career average of 258.4 yards per game, he could pass Aikman in 5 starts and Romo in 10 starts.

Dak Prescott has the potential to also threaten Romo's franchise record (4,903), having thrown for 4,902 yards in 2019, one yard shy of Romo's single-season record.

  • All-Time Passing Touchdown Leader:
Dak Prescott is currently second in Cowboys history in touchdowns (213), behind Tony Romo (248). Prescott is within 36 touchdowns of becoming the Cowboys franchise all-time Touchdown leader, something he could accomplish in 2025 thanks in part to having thrown for a franchise single season TD record (37) back in 2021 and (36) in 2023.

  • Winningest Regular Season Quarterback:
Prescott is also on track to become the franchise's winningest quarterback in the regular season.

He is currently 15 wins from tying Aikman. In a 17 game 2025 season, Dak would have to lead the Cowboys to a 16 - 1 record to become the winningest regular season leader in franchise history.

When it comes to all-time most wins (regular season + postseason) in Dallas Cowboys franchise history, Troy Aikman & Roger Staubach (tied) are the franchise leaders by far (94), followed by Tony Romo (92), Danny White (91), then Dak Prescott (76).

You must want to fight today. You just shook the Dakhater/Romo lovers nest.

It's Dak's fault for re-signing with this broken franchise. Of course he has no chance of ever winning a divisional playoff game much less a ring. IMO, we will not even compete for a playoff spot for years to come.
I agree! Its going to be awhile before we contend again. We will have to go through a lot of cap hell before we can rebuild and field a competitive team. Hopefully Jerry is sitting on some rocking chair on his yacht when that time comes.

I hope that Jerry will be sitting on his yacht counting money after selling the team asap. Maybe that’s a scenario as Jerry continues losing his mind he will sell the team to spite his kids since he can’t fathom any other Jones running his dysfunctional franchise?

I suspect Jerry will defiantly continue to run things until he “Sings with the choir eternal” - John Cleese.

Let's not confuse piling up stats in today's Madden-version, fantasy football, offense-first NFL as a comparison to QBs or any other position of yesteryear. Today, there are more than a dozen wide receivers and tight ends who easily eclipse the number of yards and receptions than Drew Pearson's best season. Roger Staubach averaged 173 yards passing per regular season game during his career - Aikman averaged 200 yards. Roger threw a total of 153 TDs in his 11 year career which averages out to about 14 TDs per season. By today's standards, Roger and likely Troy wouldn't start for most teams - they would be considered "bus drivers." However, Roger, Troy, and Drew all are all in the Hall of Fame, Ring of Honor, and SB champions.

It would nice if he had a legit #2 receiver and a better TE to throw to.....and a complimentary running game would be peachy.

Ex-Panthers Mingo and Sanders should be more than adequate to fit the bill.
Both of these RB’s are excellent receivers out of the backfields.
