Further evidence this organization has no plan and flies by the seat of its pants.

The offseason moves or lack of moves makes no sense, if the plan wasn't to eat Daks cap hit this year. They could have given him this deal back in march.
It all goes back to what I’ve basically argued . The delay was all about public perception by not caving in too early after playoff embarrassment.

But he was All In all the way on Dak and Lamb. The longer he waited the less he’d be beat up on caving in. And Jethro was probably right.

Yes,I agree - DAK included - now I like Dak, he has improved but he's pretty much has gone as far he can go.

Sometimes you have to make the hard decision today for the better tomorrow.

60 Mil a year for Dak is not a wise imo - it's gonna be hard to build around the big 3 - just look at our front 7.
The cowboys don’t spend free agent dollars and build through the draft. They will continue to have cap flexibility if they draft well

I am on record saying I don't care whether he stays or go.....but I am not a fan of this happening a few hours before kickoff. Just more evidence of us NOT being a serious football organization. This signing happened RIGHT NOW for one reason and one reason only....headlines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The primary focus of EVERYONE associated with this organization from the front office, to the coaches, to the players, to the fans.... should have been the Cleveland Browns. Not Dak becoming the highest paid player in the history of the NFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well we'll soon see if the highest ever paid QB plays like the highest paid QB this afternoon or.........:banghead:

True but then Jerry wouldn’t have had as much media attention

Nope. I’ve maintained all off season they’d get a deal done before the beginning of season. Bashed by all of the detractors calling me a Homer.

But I also push back against the Homers as well who are too defensive of our QB.
Oh yeah, that’s right. You go where the wind blows.

I thought Dak would get re-signed, because Jerry is a bad GM. The off-season moves did give me a glimmer of hope though. But well, it just confirms there is no logic to how Jerrah runs things around here. To bad there is no Al Davis anymore to laugh at, just our own clown owner.

I'll be back here after the Browns game.......we'll be looking for you
I wasn’t necessarily referring to you as one of those fans who disappear after good cowboy performances or Dak performances

I should be here all day today though

AND with indifference.
Yeah I think he's satisfied with his legacy and everything now is so damage control. He's gone into prevent defense.

Sure he'd like a SB .. but more importantly he doesn't want to take any chances that could make him look bad... It's been the easiest path of least resistance for years now.

I hope something happens that renders him unable to remain in charge.. a lawsuit or something.. yeah that's the ticket.

Elway was a great runner as a quarterback as well in his early years. I don’t think Troy had those wheels. Elway was a Bret Farve type of passer with Steve Young’s elusiveness. Just the perfect weapon. In the end he became Tom Brady before Brady.
Not comparing the two. Just remembering that when Aikman was drafted, an interesting point was made that he graded out being tied with Elway in overall scouting grade. Something like 7.5 out of 8 was the scoring outline. Yes, Elway could run/scramble better.

I still can't believe there are people who really thought Dak would not be here after this season. Wishful thinking? Praying for it? This front office was not letting him walk. Same for Romo. It had zero to do with postseason success. Romo had zero and was given the keys to the team until he couldn't anymore. There was 0% chance they broke the bank for Lamb and not knowing who the QB would be going forward. If you were going to tear it down, you trade Lamb and move on. Trade Micah, acquire draft picks and move forward. Pretty much what Houston did after they broke up Watson/Hopkins/JJ Watt. Started from scratch.

Now we get to endure those same people crying constantly that Dak is the single problem on this team and only because of him we aren't winning rings. Like this same song and dance hasn't been happening for almost 30 years now with the Jones family lol.
I was certainly hoping that there would not be extension and Dak would simply play out his contract. In the deepest reaches of my heart, I thought he would be extended.

I have no animosity toward Dak. In my case, it is much like a favorite, long-running TV series. I may still like the characters, but after a few seasons the storyline become repetitive and my interests diminishes.

Sometimes, you want change simply for the sake of change.

That was 2012. Hardy was a big chunk of change in 2015. I expect the Cowboys to extend Bland early next offseason. They will try to entice Tyler Smith to sign but that will be harder because of he will probably want tackle money. Parsons will be like CeeDee and Dak. It will be the talking point of next offseason. The Cowboys will have some big time cap room next season.

I think there’s many fans hoping for a change. But not all of them believed we’d let Dak walk.

The whole, " not wanting to work or move out on their own" is very endearing too
They are disgusting.
They walk around in public high ** and wearing pajamas.
These people can't change a tire. They use a credit card to buy a grape soda and a slim jim. Just a dumb breed of humans.
