I think a major part of Dak's difficulties is that he's lost whatever abilities he formerly had to scramble. Even "way back when," they were limited. Now, if he manages to succeed in a scramble or an rpo-type play, it's mainly successful if it's to the right side of the offensive lineup. Doing so to the left is far less likely to succeed, due to his discomfort passing while running left. Few right-handed QBs are capable of doing that with much success, anyway. It was a rare skill that Tony Romo often used quite effectively, though. I think Dak is too stiff in trying to do that.
Tony was a lot quicker at squaring up when he ran to the left. Dak seems to throw the ball before he's done squaring his shoulders, which is probably why his accuracy suffers in those cases.

There is nothing in Daks scrambling ability now that reminds me of any of those guys. Dak is in no way elusive. He is big and strong. Thats it. Nothing more, nothing less.

PS. Steve Young was faster then Jerry Rice. Lamar is probably the fastest guy on the Ravens. Dak doesn't even run a 4.7 40 and that was before his injury.

I agree. I just wanted know what it feels like to post something delusional:D

I know we harp on Zeke and how much juice he’s lost, but somehow, Dak has lost even more.

For being such an effective dual threat QB coming into the league, his mobility has truly bottomed out. He still has power, but zero speed/quickness or elusiveness
I am not sure how much I agree....but I do appreciate your consistent metrics.

Neither are 2016...and never will be. Zeke especially pretty historic. How can you NOT "lose a little bit" from that bar?

SO how do use what they got left?

Dak can't run anymore. Aaron Rodgers is 40 and he's able to elude pressure better than dak, or go run for yards!! Dak is extremely slow running the ball. I often imagine if we had a QB that had some ability to get away from someone, how effective this could be for us

yup….I’m just pissed that he’s making it tougher to keep perpetuating the myth

In all fairness, Romo's receivers were all on alert that he would extend plays. And they knew when he did buy time, he was looking to go downfield with the ball.

His scrambling reminds me of a combination of Fran Tarkenton, Steve Young and a splash of Lamar Jackson. He’s a lot more elusive and faster than people want to believe.

Don't take this the wrong way but his scrambling reminds me more of Frank Enstein than the others names you listed. Dak's success will no longer rest with his legs, it rests with his mental ability to read the field and physical ability to throw the forward pass
If that's the case, then they might as well move on in the offseason. If he can't move around a little bit, which makes him a better passer, then he's done.

He needs to extend plays to take this offense to the next level.

One thing I noticed is he refuses to scramble to his left when pressured. It is odd because it's not like he struggles to throw it when moving that way.

Yea they had these secret hand signals and code words, I think it’s since been banned by the league to communicate with each other on the field tho,

new rules dictate coach draws up a play and you close your eyes and throw it hoping for the best. If it’s intercepted ya throw your hands up to deflect blame

With Daks size, he should be like a more mobile Big Ben. He should be a lot more elusive and able to escape the sack that he is.

I understand that his injury has probably reduced his speed, but he can definitely still take off and go.

he's trying to prove to you guys he's a passer. sheesh, with low processing skills. nobody is perfect, rush is a great processor with a suspect arm.
