Yeah. Let's start all over again. I've seen 5 superbowls and I've been waiting 25 years for another. What's a few more years? Makes it more fun around here when we suck. Lol
I never said "any player", I specified Dak Prescott.
I don't either, but when these people bring up threats and holdouts, I start to consider the team's options as well. He needs them more than they need him.
I’m not saying that you said “any player”. I said any player. What I’m referring to. Is the fact that the cowboys are no longer the gold standard of football organizations to play for. It’s one of the best still. But there are others that are realistically just as good. Especially when it comes to fielding actual super bowl contending teams.
Sad to say.
I don't disagree with that. Although I wish I could...
Just draft in the first round.. We'll be fine. QB's are better then ever coming out and Dallas has a rock solid foundation for any QB to step in and be ok.
Just get someone with a little mobility and we'll be fine.
The last time Jerry tried to trade up in the first round for a QB it was Paxton Lynch. Prior to that he had to be talked out of Johnny Manziel.
It may come to that, but "we'll be fine" suggests a lot more confidence than I have in this front office.
exactly. Seems like a great dude. Find yourself another team for that much, remain as a backup making more than you are now, or go be a coach. But great starter material? Nah.I don't even know if I'd be sad about Dak holding out. I think he is a great person and I want the best for him, but I just don't think he is good enough. If I'm paying someone 40 million dollars he better have an elite physical trait. Dak doesn't have one of those.
I disagree on the sponsors, Marcus. QB's are held up to a different light and are the hub of the wheel. Image is critical to them and the team......and the sponsors.
If a team wants to keep their QB, they will not allow it to get to a holdout as that is self-defeating to all parties. Which is why you see them acquiescing to the QB's and paying what they're paying. The damage to the public image of the QB would be total.
Elliott holding out is different, short shelf time on that position, too many get injured and he's just the RB, like Bryant was just the WR and Lawrence just the DE. If Prescott had a shoulder that needed surgery, how do you think that would be viewed as opposed to Lawrence waiting?
In today's NFL, there's the team and there's the QB and they are not handled the same.
There are companies that provide Q Factors to other companies wanting an endorsement as to the "likability" of a spokesperson and evidently Prescott scored highly, higher than more successful QB's. His agent would not risk that holding out over 27.5M, who in the hell could even relate to that? If he officially held out, there would be a hold put on every ad he's on and reportedly, he makes 7M a year just doing that. Do you see Cousins, Goff or Wentz a lot?
Tag him. If he holds out, he holds out. Go draft a young QB, bring in a Vet to start and see what the future holds.
I just feel like the answer to all of this is let Dak hit the open market and find his true value.
I don't see any need in competing against ourselves.
If he leaves fine.
We'll use that money to build our roster closer to the 9ers or Titans.
I agree with Bart Scott.

0-5 against top 10 defenses.. 8 TDs and 7 turnovers..
Pay the man lol.
ok, then who plays QB for us next season? Are you prepared to go into the season with Cooper Rush as the starter?
Draft a qb first round
I don’t think he will be tagged but from his perspective I could see holding out
