Who really cares as long as he picks up 1st downs and TD's. Gets the offense out of a bad situation. Say 2 and 20, and he picks up 15. Makes the 3rd down much more manageable.

We don't need a RB as a QB. We just need a better RB.

Dak/McCarthy absolutely need to have run plays for him. The play the refs were in the way and we snapped the ball and they killed it.... dak did a naked bootleg on and he could have ran for days. They simply dont even look to Dak to keep it and run anymore. On his TD run, that DB chasing him was not catching him, so he clearly isnt slow.

Pick and chose the spots, but 2-4 times a game is ok in my book.
Watching the game back, this was easily Daks best game of the year.
He performed well. The O-Line needs to improve. Dak needed those runs to give him confidence in his leg. He was still sacked 4 or 5 times holding the ball too long. If he would at least bail and roll out on those plays earlier he would give defenses fits. He does it sometimes and nobody is around. Take off with those and they will start to leave someone to spy him. That leaves a TE open if he is running 12 personel. But that was one of Daks best games even though it was so close. They say he missed Pollard on that wheel route but Pollard is not a WR. He twisted his body around funny. But the ball was over his right shoulder. A WR would have caught that. But he still almost caught it.

Derwin James didn't catch him. I don't care what speed he reaches, just keep using the read option.

I dont care about the stats , it’s was excellent to see Dak use his legs and open a dimension of the offense that we haven’t seen for years.

What MM should be aware of is this is going greatly benefit the passing games as well. I’m not saying that defenses will have to designate a “spy” for it but at least it will remain a “ threat “ .

Just as long as Dak does it judiciously and slides before the threat of a big hit, I’m 100% thrilled to see him doing it.

His accuracy on the run is when he's at his best. Him moving in the pocket will help this offensive line and give him more looks. Just dropping back and dissecting the defense is making a already bad offensive scheme look worse.

Yeah its important to not take necessary hits. He's done a good job of it in his career but there's times including where he got hurt against the Giants that year....just get down.

I’m willing to risk it, within reason. Just look at the 2 injuries to Rodgers and Burrow.…one no contact and the other light contact in the pocket.

Even if we had a good running ( which we don’t) , todays evolution of the game requires athletic quarterbacks willing to pick up yards with their legs. Mahomes and Allen do it with frequency.

we just saw Mahomes run the ball 7 times against the Jets……because he had to.

he's not holding the ball too long he has maybe 2-2.5 secs to get rid of it and he's been running for his life.. Some of them dudes have been in that backfield before 2 seconds. Its been that bad. Secondly nones open!! fast enough!!!

lots of issues that are not dak holding it for no good reason.. So literally the only sack I saw in the last game that he could have got rid of the football was the one where he got out of a sack and then ran towards the sideline looking for someone open and they got sacked about a yard short of the line he held onto the ball too long there trying to make a big play... i don't blame him after he escaped like Houdini and was looking downfield for something big and then he got sacked anyway.. i mean we're not talking about lamar or mobile quarterbacks like justin fields. i would prefer him to be a pocket passer or getting some passes complete than taking off and running too much.....

you should have stopped at bad OL, added poor run game leading to one dimensional non-complimentary football that allowing the D to key on him and also playing cover age add in WRs not creating separations etc then we can talk Dak..

I agree. I understand what he is trying to do and when our O-Line is playing well he would have time to stand tall and pick teams apart but lately he has been getting heat. I would actually design a lot of plays to roll him out. Makes opposing Defense freak out. Players like LB and safeties are looking at him and peeling off coverage.

I figured you last paragraph was a given. They have a thread (not sure if this is it) where they show Fergie running down the seam wide open. They said he was looking at him but didn’t throw it. What I saw was him looking off the LB and safety as he drops back. He glanced to Gallups side and the LB and safety ran over to Gallups side and Fergie was open. But Tyron got beat off the line and Dak never looked to have the time to set his feet and throw. He barely had time to roll out and hit someone for 5 or 7 yards. The last 2 games our starting O-Line has been playing together he has been running for his life. I was glad to see him take off for that TD and other plays. Great for his confidence and team. I just think some of those sacks he could thrown it away. Just has to get it past the line and towards a receiver. The will throw a flag for intentional grounding.
