I agree. I understand what he is trying to do and when our O-Line is playing well he would have time to stand tall and pick teams apart but lately he has been getting heat. I would actually design a lot of plays to roll him out. Makes opposing Defense freak out. Players like LB and safeties are looking at him and peeling off coverage.
Yeah i'm afraid those days are over for the offensive line. They surely aren't consistent enough to do it almost every drop back. I agree with you. Right now the linebackers and safeties are teeing off on us and he has to do something to at least get them to be hesitant.

You should never try to judge how fast a guy is running just by how it looks. There are too many variables to judge. Stride length, acceleration, deceleration, turnover, wasted motion all of that. The best thing to do is look at how much ground is being covered per second and go from there. The more yards you see being covered per second the faster the guy is running. Watch that and then watch the clock in the corner of the screen and you can get a pretty good read on how fast he's moving!
On the TD run Dak crosses the 20 yard line just as the clock hits 6:24 then he crosses the 10 yard line just as it hits 6:23. That 10 yards or 30 feet per second. I don't care what it LOOKED like.. That is movin. For reference 30 mph is 44 feet per second so 30 feet per second is about 20.4 mph. If they estimate Dak topped out at a little over 18 mph or so that's totally in line with what I saw on the field.
Bring on tyrek. I want pay for view race to combat world hunger. Just kidding Dak looks slower than he was like hes lumbering but ill take your word for it

I’m willing to risk it, within reason. Just look at the 2 injuries to Rodgers and Burrow.…one no contact and the other light contact in the pocket.

Even if we had a good running ( which we don’t) , todays evolution of the game requires athletic quarterbacks willing to pick up yards with their legs. Mahomes and Allen do it with frequency.

we just saw Mahomes run the ball 7 times against the Jets……because he had to.
I'm not a fan of what Allen does. Mahomes though I do agree. It at least keeps the defense somewhat honest.

My problem with Allen doing it is him OVER doing it.

I just really believe he can't control himself. Mahomes is very judicious in his running
I don't like how the Bills don't protect him. He clearly doesn't mind the contact. I mean he just gets ROCKED. I don't understand it.

Sort a like what Cam Newton used to do in Carolina? He wanted the glory of the score for himself. I live in NC and was not a fan of his.

Quite surprised because on that TD Run, he LOOKED slow.

I even made a comment in the gameday thread that I thought Aikman could have ran it in faster.

I guess the "eye test" is not always correct.
18 is slow - it is 20% slower than the speed guys which register 22 on occasions. Thats like a 5.3 40 yard in comparison to a 4.3

I’ll say one thing for that guy though: from his very first game he could sling the rock.

no honeymoon period, no grooming for the position……he just started putting up big numbers

Unfortunately , I will always remember him fumbling in the SB and moving AWAY from the ball rather than diving to recover it.

Give me the 2012 version of Cam to our present team…….be no stopping our offense

look man he's paid to make plays not throw the ball away i get what you're saying but how about we just focus on the real issues it's the offensive line, wrs not Gettig open and the questionable play calling... so much goes into always calling out dak his name has to be mentioned everywhere... even when he carried this team to a win with NO run game and all the issues i listed above..
This would be a game he carried them at times. Do you think some here are going to give him his credit. Was a team game. Defense stood up and made a play when they needed. And our kicker did a good job. But Dak took that ball and ran it in himself and I was on my feet cheering him on. Made some good passes also. I think if that wheel route to Pollard would have been thrown to a WR it’s 6.

Dak/McCarthy absolutely need to have run plays for him. The play the refs were in the way and we snapped the ball and they killed it.... dak did a naked bootleg on and he could have ran for days. They simply dont even look to Dak to keep it and run anymore. On his TD run, that DB chasing him was not catching him, so he clearly isnt slow.

Pick and chose the spots, but 2-4 times a game is ok in my book.
Watching the game back, this was easily Daks best game of the year.
I was bummed when that play was stopped. I had been calling for it all game because of the pressure the Chargers were getting. I wasn’t there like you, but felt it would’ve been a big play.

I dont care about the stats , it’s was excellent to see Dak use his legs and open a dimension of the offense that we haven’t seen for years.

What MM should be aware of is this is going greatly benefit the passing games as well. I’m not saying that defenses will have to designate a “spy” for it but at least it will remain a “ threat “ .

Just as long as Dak does it judiciously and slides before the threat of a big hit, I’m 100% thrilled to see him doing it.
Dak came up idolizing Tim Tebow...so better or worse, it's part of how he learned to play the position. Problem is...he is 30 years old and he should learn to run and slide instead of lowering his shoulder like he did last night.

Math is cool and you can judge the speed of a player much better than I can. I get it.

My only question is why does ANYONE care what I think? OBVIOUSLY what I thought I saw was incorrect. I'm not disputing this, nor am I hiding from it.

You can feel free to keep coming up with further facts to prove me wrong, but considering I have already admitted I was wrong, what's the point?

I'm not Anti-Dak, but am starting to understand why some are. Instead of accepting my multiple posts in this thread where I conceded that I was OBVIOUSLY WRONG, you still want to reply with a "WeLl AcTuAlLy ...." response. All that makes me want to respond with is: I don't care.

I can't help it if when I watched live I thought Dak LOOKED slow. But in fact he wasn't, I just didn't have good judgement of the speed on the field. Nor am I arguing that fact. And unlike some (possibly), I am so glad Dak scored the TD.

And regardless of how fast Dak was, percived or otherwise, he was fast enough because he was NEVER caught.

Amazing.

So, I'm going to move on. I just hope those of you too sensitive to hear even the slightest non-positive post about a player, especially when the poster admits they were wrong, can do the same.

JMHO

P.S. In the future, if/when I post that "Player Y looked slow". Just realize I'm getting old and my or may not be very good at judging speeds when watching on T.V.

Thanks.

Yeah and playcalling has to be better. I noticed we used a little motion. And he didn’t run from under center and pass from shot gun every single time.

Our O-Line not being consistent and predictable play calling leaves our QB running for his life. With him using his legs it helps a lot. It maybe that we need to have designed roll outs more often. 12 personel helps. If Tyron makes that block Monday night I think Dak would have set his feet and hit Fergie open down the middle. That play happened so fast he was lucky to escape.

Ok let's see if we can see it some more! They can clock him faster than a cheetah, he's still slow, and they still have to call more plans for him to use his legs. He has to be smart, for some reason he seems to be against sliding, he takes some big hits
Dak just has slow feet and very little quickness.
