Crazy how we got a future hall of famer in the 4th round while these clowns gave up their entire futures for Carson Squintz and Jared Scoff

Something to build on.
I know Dak will not play lights out every game but what we do know is he is prepared and he isn't over his head when the spotlight is on him. He already has to poise of a veteran. The future is very bright for this young man.

Dak Prescott is atleast an NFL backup if not a starter. I'm on the bandwagon from what I saw. The guy just needs to keep his mechanics sound and everything will fall into place. I see a 10 year NFL career if possible if he can continue to improve.

Who knows how it turns out. But it does go to show why you have to be very careful ponying up multiple high picks at a position where there's so much variability in performance that doesn't happen until after you actually get in the league.

What's funny all those Wentz fans that was calling his game impressive......are no where to be found. Haven't seen one of them eat crow or at least say something good about Dak. It's pathetic really, guys can't stand that Dak outplayed their "jesus". Risen is every making jokes about Dak. I don't need to name those guys we know who they are

Screw those guys. Wentz lovers..

I wasn't excited when we drafted him, but it wasn't that big of a deal since it was the 4th round.

But he really impressed me last night. I know it's just a couple of quarters in one preseaon game but he looked really good. He has the size, showed poise and pocket awareness, made almost all of his throws and looked like a leader. Far surpassed my expectations.

I expected him to be a little shaky and want to run at the first sign of trouble, but instead, he stood tall and saw the field well and only ran when it was absolutely necessary.

It's real early but he showed a lot of promise. Definitely have high hopes for this kid now.

I support Dak.

But boy ole boy, we love to set ourselves up for disappointment.

Quick to say "I was right, he was wrong" in only a short matter of time.

I think Dak can be real good, but I'll wait a little longer before I start getting to happy.

Another thing though......why is Wentz considered a franchise QB and had a QB rating of 41.8. Dak has nearly a perfect game but he isn't?

Drafting quarterbacks is a crap shoot unless there's a can't miss prospect. That's not Goff or Wentz.

Having seen most of Cam's starts, my first reaction was that he looked more seasoned than Newton looked during his first preseason. That doesn't mean he'll go on to have a similar career, but it was definitely surprising. I hope they bring him along slowly, keeping most of the play selection within his comfort zone and gradually introducing more complicated reads. I think that's a good approach with any rookie QB, but if a QB is athletic then it's more feasible to approach it that way, especially with a strong line and running game. Going forward, if he just continues to flash the abilities we saw last night (with the inevitable screw ups all young passers will have) then they might have something.

Not reading much into the nights for Goff and Wentz. It's a process, after all.

The fact that Dak looked as good as he did is an excellent sign, though. Once you see a guy do it, you know he can do it again. If it carries over to a gameplanned game once there's 8 weeks or so of tape on him and NFL DCs have tried to stop him, then we'll know we're onto something.

As it stands now, though, it is fun to speculate what might happen in a redraft. :)

That's exactly right. Last night didn't prove that Dak is the future, but it sure did help things move in the right direction.

The encouraging thing for me is that last night is simply a continuation of what Dak has always done. He makes good things happen for his team. He did it the whole time he was at MS State. He did it in the SR. Bowl. And he did it in his first preseason game.

Last night is just what Prescott does. Now, it was a pretty flawless night and that won't always be the case, I'm sure... but that game was no accident. He was prepared, the team believed in him and played hard for him, and he had the physical skills to get it done.

It was just one step, but it was a big step and one in the right direction.

I do agree though that last night, in and of itself, doesn't prove anything.

I agree, with a few nitpicks. It doesn't prove Dak is the future QB but its proof he can play and that his draft selection was a good one.

Also it doesn't prove that he is capable of being the backup QB this year, but its awfully close.
