As Dak Prescott begins year the first new year of his massive four-year, $240 million deal signed in 2024, it’s almost impossible to be at least mildly concerned with his long-term health and wellness.

Prescott’s mobility has seen a significant decline since that gruesome compound fracture suffered back in 2020 and now the Cowboys signal-caller is generally resigned to a pocket-focused role with scrambles even falling outside his area of expertise. In an era when mobility has never been more en vogue, the Cowboys find themselves moving in the opposite direction of league trends.

It's hard to envision the Cowboys running the ball more often than passing, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see something more balanced than it was under Mike McCarthy.

Yet another article........but we have really done nothing up to this point to improve our running game.

Then we will draft a WR in round 1.

Then a CB in round 2.

Then we will see what's left at RB in the 3rd and the RT side of our OLine will be worse than last season.

Sounds like we are committed to the run alright.

This is what kill ladie has been screaming for a few years...

Maybe one end the only Dak critics that MAYBE was on to something...

Only issue is that:

1) kill ladie has still taken off their mask to be an unreasonable Dak hater in some threads

2) this brings up the question as to what, if anything, is going on behind closed doors of the scouting department of the most profitable sports org on earth

3) how was Dak able to have quite a few good production years if he is lacking skills

There have been a small few critics of Dak that claim he is:

1) slow release

2) one read

3) afraid to hit small windows

There is of course the crowd that clings to his playoff record and claim he is not clutch.

Only issue I have with the above is....there has been pro qb youtubers scouting dak that seem to suggest he is fine over all

I don't get it
Please note how this comment is being avoided

The fat lady just hummed a few bars.

Unfortunately, the entire league is now aware of Dak's shortcomings, so it's going to make running the ball more difficult than many think.
and what are the shortcomings that will stop us from running the football? Because I’ve seen teams with worse running games not run the football. It’s almost like guys are afraid to run the football and I don’t know why.

Should be more like the TEAMS shortcomings are all Dak's fault. According to some fans.

When it is really the TEAMS shortcomings are all the TEAMS fault.

Not taking up for Dak. It was stupid to give him a new contract. Should have let him play last year out.

One is a defiant furture HOFer the other is borderline. The doubters exist because they may have passed their prime. Different kind of doubters. You know this.
Doubt is doubt. Herbert has doubters, Goff has doubters, Hurts still has Doubters. I can go on and on.

it ridiculous" his shortcomings"

I'd like to see jalen hurts even do half of what Prescott did here with the roster we give him,

I'm not making excuses but it's ridiculous you see all these other teams, and we can't be playing both sides of this debate other teams GM's do a whole lot more in the offseason and some make more trades it doesn't always workout but that all in narrative that we keep hearing that Jerry never does!!!!!

you have jalen hurts NOT winning a Super Bowl because of it his shortcomings but Foles must be better, I guess the eagles saw Jalen hurt shortcomings and they got one of the best running backs in the league to pair with the best OL. 2 great targets at WR and better TE than we have , HUH!??? and then handed barkely $20 million per year... you remember when we gave zeke 11-15 now that was a big deal but Christian McCaffrey gets 19 and then gets hurt and does really nothing to help further San Francisco from where they've been in the past without him, and then they give Henry to Lamar Jackson. Heck Sam Darnold and Baker had better run games, targets, and schemes.all FACTs
that can't be debated please don't try I sit and watch these teams and even now you see it was I don't see it as a great move financially but look what Cincinnati just gave Joe Burrows who makes a lot of money but they had to pay 2 wide receivers top of their market the top #2 wide receiver pay and the number one wide receiver pay in the league and Prescott who's his number two who has been his number two who is his running back the last two seasons please don't say Pollard was any good because he wasn't he should have been a change of pace guy the whole time he wasn't better than Rico but these guys are not on those levels...
I mean I don't get it "whose shortcomings" are we really talking about???!!!
do we get to use the word shortcomings or that the team needs to be strengthened in order to go further in the playoffs, can we stop talking about the quarterback shortcomings and it actually GM owner roster coaching all have shortcomings in the past this was said when it was going to become Romo friendly??!!
that's ridiculous it is not any of those terms it is building a proper team for success it needs more balance it needs more of this complimentary football that Mike McCarthy never did was it all his fault probably not but when you don't use your best back until like week 10 you don't use Turpin in some of your other weapons until week 10 when everything is falling apart..
All quarterbacks needed a better team around them to have more success or they look bad tell me Patrick mahomes has it looked like himself the last three seasons he's had worse stats and last year didn't look good at all in most games and look how bad he looked in the Super bowl but nobody questions it because his team has won Super Bowls with him he has stepped up in the past but he has a better coaching staff top to bottom a better GM and they do more with less but he's had more weapons at the same time on the field than Prescott or Romo have ever had and they step up in the playoffs not step back and step down the mistakes are being made by the entire team around here and we just gotta keep seeing stories about how we have to coddle and protect Prescott everybody wants him to see him go and I think that that's the wrong perspective...
Can't blame both the biggest problem around here the most consistent problem has been over 30 years right that's not Prescott or Romo that would be the team builder that would be the entire front office the entire ownership group everyone and will McClay, he's been part of this so let's not coddle him either..

Anybody on here questioning Prescott's ability without questioning the actual rosters not been built properly consistently in order to win the big games,

that's a fact and I see debates all over about that you want to knock Jerry knock the GM knock the bad coaching all the way back to Jason Garrett and whatever else they've had here that's the big problem not the quarterback you're wasting a great quarterback's careers what you're doing I like how that narrative is said about all poor tyrants man that poor Zach Martin and poor DeMarcus Ware and whoever other big names we allegedly wasted their careers here Jason Witten being one how about we're wasting Romo and Prescott's careers these guys are on that level they are that good but they just aren't putting enough of everything in the right mix in order to make this better in the big games...FACTS
