Brady went his first 78 attempts without a TD, and he was already in his 2nd year.

Prescott had a 103.7 rating yesterday on 30 attempts. I was curious to know the last time Sanchez had such a high rating on that many attempts, if ever. He did it once (2010).

Romo did it twice in 2014 -- at Seattle and at Philly.
Good stuff.

To be fair, it was rare in 2014 when Romo had 30 attempts or more. It was usually in the very high 20s. I guess a couple of screens would get him over the hump. Makes it more astounding the averaged a QB rating of > 113 for the entire 2014 season. Fairly mind-boggling. He did pull that off also in a 2014 playoff game.

I think he has exceeded a 103 rating with 30 attempts or more about 30 times in his career.
In any case, it's not an easy thing to do, especially in Dak's case without a TD.

I dont want to be a debbie downer, but Is there any stats that show if Warren Moon had any passing td's? Did he have more pass attempts down field?
Not saying Prescott didnt play well for a rookie because he sure is, but a lot of his passes are dinks and short throws.

That is a good question. I was pretty young at the time and don't remember...was it the run n shoot offense his first year?

Moon threw 2 TDs in the first game, none in the second.
Moon also threw no INTs in his 3rd game, bringing him to 103 passes without an INT. He threw a pick-six in his 4th game, in 4th quarter garbage time (they lost 42-10), so he went somewhere around 130 attempts before throwing an INT in the NFL.

Thank God for that penalty on the one int he did throw!

And yes Warren Moon had spent years in the CFL before becoming a "rookie" in the NFL.

what interception got negated by a penalty?

I recall one in preseason but not any in the regular season

Ok. Nothing to get all amped about. I can throw 75 incomplete passes and say that none were intercepted.

Let's get some TD's on the board.

Here's an interesting little factoid: Romo didn't have 3 games in a row without an INT until 2009.

And in his first full year, 2007, Romo only had 3 total games without an INT. He threw interceptions in 13 of 16 games. (14 of 17 if you count the playoff game)

I'm curious about what the record is for most passes to start a career without an INT period. I don't care for the 2 game qualifier. If somebody only threw it 70 times in their first two games, but didn't have an INT until 200 throws, then this "record" really doesn't mean much.

It's good the kid isn't turning the ball over though.

Moon went between 103 and 131--or sometime in his 4th game. I don't have the game log handy.
Dak already easily has the record for most pass attempts without a TD, btw.
The two kind of go hand in hand, as TD:INT ratio is a big deal. he'll get a TD vs the Bears though, I predict.

I don't think the info about 11 QBs is right. He must just be talking about seasons, not different QBs and certainly not talking about rookies... Roger, Troy and Tony all had int's in their first 2 starts.

Moon also had a lot of CFL experience before the NFL didn't he? I know that's not the NFL but just gave him more experience as a QB overall than Dak.

Just looked it up Moon had 3 years college and 6 years CFL so 9 years of QB experience before he made his first NFL throw.

I get the feeling that you're not that enthused about #4

I like Dak. Seems to have "it". Not sure if he'll be an elite QB, but he can be a winning QB with a good team around him. The fact that we've failed to build a good unit anywhere outside of the O-line isn't Dak's fault. I was just pointing out that Dak had some sloppy passes in the second half against the Giants that should've results in picks. Saying "but he had dropped TDs" doesn't rule out that he had dropped INTs too.

Agreed, but I don't think at this point in his NFL career it's even possible to determine what he's going to end up to be. If one were forced to make an opinion based on his short career so far, I would say you have to lean towards this guy being a pretty good QB.
