I'll say it again.......intangibles are overlooked and unappreciated. These stats IMO is why he's one of the ugliest winning QB in the league. Nothing pretty or sexy but he wins. Please don't he needs help......there's not a QB in the leagues that can win games w/o the help of his team. The bottom line for me, as long he keeps winning game, I don't care how ugly he is.

I remember Trent Dilfer had an interesting take on the year he won the Super Bowl with the Ravens. As he put it, he was smart enough to understand he was surrounded by a ton of talent. So his goal was to use the talent and have more good plays than bad. Other words, don't lose games........

This is exactly how I think Dak is approaching games. Protect the ball and make a few critical plays a game.

We don't have that Ravens defense. We can't afford a Trent Dilfer. I don't think Dak is nearly as bad as Dilfer was, but I think we probably need top ten or so performance to have a realistic chance to win it all. If we had a top 7 or so QB I'd consider it a huge upset if we didn't win with this team. I guess we'll see how Dak plays in the playoffs. Everyone says he's clutch, we'll need that - and not just at the end of games. We'll need him to play clutch from the get go because there won't be any Tampa Bays.

Not a single one of those throws were worse than Dak’s throw.

Holy crap LOL

Is Rodgers just extremely lucky to only throw 2 INT all season with all these over throws while throwing nearly 600 times?

Give me a break, my dude

LOL. Rodgers throws right to a defender and you think that's not worse than Dak's throw? You are just trolling now.

Having a bad read is not the problem! I am not critiquing reading a defense, I am criticizing accuracy and the fact that HE ROUTINELY OVERTHROWS WRs TO THE POINT EVEN AIKMEN POINTED OUT HIS PROBLEM!

Did you not actually watch the play I posted? Dak has a simple dumpoff to Zeke and threw way over his head and into the arms of a defender.

Do you see the difference here? I mean, my god

And again, is Rodgers just so lucky that he throws to defenders consistently enough and only having 2 picks all season?

You’re a terrible debater.

+1 ........only thing I'm saying for a QB who many seem to think is back up at best, sure wins a heck of a lot of games. How is that?

I think the stats are pretty accurate, Dak is a middle of the pack QB. With a very good defense (which IMO we have) and an elite running game (duh), that can win a lot of games. I'm just not sure it can win a lot of playoff games. We either need the defense to play like a truly elite unit, like they did against the Saints, or we need better play from the QB position - or maybe a combination of both.

This team reminds me a lot like the 2011 49ers.

What are you talking about? Rogers threw the ball right to the defender's arm. It wasn't a bad read. He was trying to lead his receiver but he over threw it right to the defender. That's just a bad throw. Rodgers also under threw a ball that hit the defender in the back. Those are bad throws. Either you are blind or just trolling.

SHOW ME A PASS WHERE A SIMPLE DUMPOFF IS OVERTHROWN 5 FEET ABOVE A 6 FOOT RB INTO A DEFENDERS HANDS

Not ONE of those clips showed this. They are not remotely close.

Either bring an accurate comparison or get out. You have yet to do so.

Let’s also talk about something: Rodgers is 35 years old. So if he is just now sucking, it’s not exactly a great thing that a kid that should be entertains his peak years making throws you’d see from someone washed up or a rookie

Agree on the defense, but we can't call this an elite running game. Zeke is a workhorse, and he is the most productive back in the league, in addition to being the team's #2 receiving target, but the run game hasn't been as efficient as it was his first two seasons. OL has been an issue, especially in the red zone.

Elliott's Success Rate
2018 51% 15th
2017 57% 2nd
2016 57% 2nd

Success Rate
Elliott's runs inside 10-yd line
2018 33.3% (7 of 21)
2017 65.0% (13 of 20)
2016 66.7% (16 of 24)

That can’t be anything but sarcasm, right? I have a feeling if you add games 1 through 4, his numbers would plummet.

I wish I could have done that in hs. Just tell the coach to never use the batting avg from games where I went 0 for.
Lol . No, I was legitimately wondering if there was a specific reason.

I was thinking elite RB, shouldn't have written running game. You are correct. Actually if the running game was playing like it had the last 2 seasons our red zone problems would be more or less solved. 7 or 8 more red zone TD runs would make this offense look a lot less anemic.

Top 10 rated passers when pressured for weeks 4-16 (from PFF)
1 Wilson 102.6
2 Ryan 97.1
3 Watson 93.5
4 Prescott 84.7
5 Winston 84.2
6 Cousins 83.4
7 Mayfield 83.2
8 Luck 83.0
9 Stafford 81.0
10 Rivers 79.3

The problem with that stat is that it doesn't take into account times when a QB runs away from the line of scrimmage and takes a terrible sack. Had he thrown the ball away his passer rating would be worse, but the result for the team would be much better.

I showed you plenty of bad throws. Throws to feet of receivers. Over throws, under throws, bad short throws, long throws, late throws. Throws to defenders. Either you have no clue, or just trolling at this point. Probably both.

Percy, some nice targets on the complexities involved on a Dak Prescott focus.

Myself, I think the development of the offensive line; the intensity of drive killing penalties; and the new arrival of Cooper can not be lost in a projection as well.

A disciplined offensive line, both in execution and lack of penalties, and the 'new' offense well may become productive come Red Zones as well.

Percy coming with a strong candidate for post of the year right before seasons end....GOOD STUFF.

Which would also mean that same quarterback would never extend plays or try to create something from nothing. It would also be wasting Dak's mobility. BTW, Dak isn't the only one to take sacks.

I said nothing about QBs extending plays or not. I made a point about using passer rating as an under pressure measure. There is a major flaw and I pointed it out. Any QB who runs around and takes a sack rather than throw the ball away will have a better passer rating because he was under pressure but didn't throw the incompletion. Yet that would mean a loss of yards. So it's a negative impact that measures positively in the statistic - that's makes a bad stat.

Right. No passer rating stat ever includes sacks, that's why I included sack numbers in the OP.

Prescott, Ryan, Watson, and Stafford are top 10 in pressured passer rating, and also among the 10 most-sacked.

Red zone failures cost us at least two games (Texans, Titans).
