He doesn't show up when the Cowboys need him to lead.
He simply is along for the ride when they beat up the weak teams.

What? Who FAILED in the playoffs? It was the defense and the coaches. Where WAS Zeke in the majority of the losses last year? You think Aikman would so called lead if Emmitt didn't show up?

Let's look at this a minute:
Does 8-8 make a team or their quarterback special?
Did those 4900 passing yards help against an Eagles team that was playing 2nd and 3rd Stringers? This was the game that defined Dak Prescott as to whether or not he could carry the team when they needed him.
Did those 4900 passing yards help against the Bills?
Did those 4900 passing yards help against the Saints?
Did those 4900 passing yards help against the Bears?
Did those 4900 passing yards help against the Jets?
Did those 4900 passing yards help against the Patriots?
Did those 4900 passing yards help against the Vikings?
Did those 4900 passing yards help against any team in contention for a playoff spot?
Stats don't win Super Bowls. Players who show up when their team needs them win Super Bowls.
Dak isn't a leader. Leaders show up when the game- or the season, for that matter- is on the line.
When the Cowboys couldn't beat the Jets or the Eagles to get into the playoffs, it spoke volumes. When Dak couldn't lead the team when they needed him the most and get past even the weaker teams, it spoke volumes.
Actions speak louder than words. Dak threw the ball into the ground on 4th down.

You couldn't have stuck this in one of the other 100,000,000,000 Dak sucks threads?

Well, he's certainly had better seasons than 8 and 8. I think Dak would be the first to tell you that 8 and 8 is not anywhere close to the goal.

Dak's play at LB was terrible last year
Dak's play in the Secondary was terrible last year
Dak's play as an interior defensive lineman was terrible last year

I can say dumb stuff too. This is fun

The LB position didn't beat the Cowboys. They played well.
The interior defensive line didn't beat the Cowboys. They played well.
No team moved over the Cowboys defense at will.
It was the inability of the offense to sustain drives that beat the Cowboys. Only when the opposing teams backed off into a prevent mode did Dak move the offense.
But, you're right about how one would categorize what you said.

Winning 40 games in 4 years with Garrett as the head coach definitely qualifies as marquee in my opinion, particularly given our submediocre defense and special teams.

What drugs are you on, I sure do not want any of those.
He's got a point.

On the 'willingness to take a risk' scale Romo was probably an 8 and Dak is more like a 2.

Romo would have been better off he if dialed that back to a 5 and Dak would be better off if he ramped up to a 5.

Playing conservatively is fine much of the time but sometimes you have to trust yourself and your teammates and try and make something happen. That is a big part of the game that Dak is missing.

Where did Dak say 8-8 establishes him as "marquee"?

Just pulling things out of you backside again? Seems you have a lot of storage space back there.

So he gave examples of his opinion.

Weather you like it or not.

So why don't you explain to us what makes Dak so great to the point you have to defend him like a dedicated house wife.

He pulls crap out of his rear end.

You act like a sensitive loyal wife.

The difference is that Romo was always out there fighting. He never just "laid an egg" when the team needed him. He made some stupid throws and some costly interceptions, but he was still fighting.
Dak just goes along with the team.

Exactly right! The only reason we were able to go 8-8 some of those seasons was because of Romo single-handedly overachieving with the crappiest offensive lines in the NFL. If they weren't holding, they were botching a snap or moving pre-snap, or just being the human sieves they were

The difference is that Dakota couldn't rise to the occasion in many games and we failed to score more than 10 points in 3 easily winnable close games. Hes mediocrity personified and currently not signed because of the character flaw of GREED by demanding a contract not commensurate with his average talent.........he's shown his true colors, so lets move on
