Dak: "This is Romo's Team"

I was just about to post this. A lot of players use the "It's not my decision" comment in response. Dak knows the bottom line is it is the team's decision and no matter what he says or does not say, it will not change that. At this point, this team is still Tony's team. Now, when Tony is healthy (not just active, but healthy) and Dak remains the starter, then it will be Dak's team.

Exactly.

..not that anyone within the organization or anyone that understands football needed a reminder.

He just said that because Romo took him to dinner the other night.

But honestly, what else would he say 7 games into his rookie season.

It's impressive how well Dak handles the media.

He seems humble, and truly oblivious to the controversy.

He doesn't really mean it, though. Props for being a true professional.

Deep down Dak knows this is his team, he's been our starter since Romo went down early in the 3rd preseason game against Seattle. He's led us to this 6-1 record and he's brought a lot of energy and hope to this team. Romo is in an awkward situation, knowing that if he were to take over for Dak while the team and Dak are playing well, he'll be in a position of trying not to screw up what we have going. Don't think he wants that kind of pressure, he probably would rather come in when and if he's really needed.

To me the consistency of him saying it seems like he has been coached up to respond this way... I feel like Jerry has basically made a promise to him. "I got a deal with Tony, we got to see this through and give him a shot. But one day this will all be yours, and I'll have the same deal with you. I just need to you to be a good soldier with this, be on board." To a lesser extent, it seems like the entire team has been coached up on their responses to the QB "controversy" and I wouldn't be surprised if they all are being prepared for what is going to happen (either way).

I'd actually seen her in the locker room for weeks and had been trying to find her googling 'attractive blonde Cowboys locker room great personality intelligent.' But all I got was results abut Cole Beasley or how Troy Aikman looked in the shower.

I'm now being told by Trouty via PM that the attractive locker room reporter is somebody called Jane Slater and not Kathryn Dunn, after all. Because I only see people for their personalities and can't recognize race, gender, or ethnicity, I can't confirm or deny. I just know that I was impressed by her (or his?) demeanor with the tape recorder.

It's funny all the players are saying how much chemistry they have and how hard they pay for each other.......without Romo as starter. They even said it's something they have never seen before.

But yet some want to think it's still Romo team

It's even more funny that you think this is some kind of public stab by all the players toward Romo...

Dez cheering his team on from the sidelines.
Frederick apologizing to Zeke.
Dak proclaiming this is Romo's team.
Romo helping Dak out on the sidelines.
Garrett calling a fake punt and going for it on 4th and 1 in overtime.

Dogs marrying cats.
Cowboys back in the Super Bowl.
The world's turning upside's down!!!!

It's so dumb how the reporter tells you what the players are going to say before they say it. It makes listening to the interviews redundant.

Actually, it's not dumb. It's an interviewing strategy. Some reporters know that players aren't the most cerebral or some players don't really have the words to express themselves. So they asked questions in such a way that subliminally feeds an answer to the interviewee. And the interviewee receives the information he's given and formulates it into his own words.

It's also a form of not getting a simple "yes" or "no" answer.

I'm willing to bet every one of those players believes Tony is a part of the team and a big part of the chemistry. I've yet to see even a whiff of a schism in the locker room over who the QB is. I've only seen it from the fans, who for whatever reason aren't content to just play the hand as it comes and see what happens.

There won't be as long as the team is winning. We might not have heard about it, but if this team were 1-6 instead of 6-1, you'd have players wondering when Tony is coming back.

Winning is the ultimate Band-Aid.
