Dak Top 5. Let's talk argument against it

Nothing new just happened.

This 2nd half against the Texans shouldn't bring on a manufactured epiphany

Hes still the same quarterback but if you get delirious about a Qb that was shutout the entire 1st half of a game by the 16th ranked defense, have at it, hoss.
Yeah, that never ever never happens to Allen or Mahomes or Purdy... they never ever have a slow half. Never that happens

It means if you have a top 5 ALL-TIME defense AND a great running game (Dilfer, Johnson, McMahon) OR get lucky enough to catch lightning in a bottle for a game or 2 (Foles), you can possibly win a SB with a qb that is generally booty cheeks.

And I thank you my guy for proving the point that I have always made, I appreciate you for that.

In a nutshell, you reinforced the formula of what takes a TEAM to win a Superbowl. And a lil luck along the way. Thats why is laughable when people say this person didn't go to a CCG or that person didn't go to a Superbowl.

Thats just the thing. A person doesn't win games, a group of people do.

What would Dak's stat be if he played against cowboys defense!!!

And per usual, when we win its, he got out played and it was CD

But when we lose its his fault.

Did I get that right?
Not at all. You're making that up. I disagree with that statement completely. Now go find someone who actually feels that way and call them out.

Yeah that was a good question from the other person. What kind of numbers do you think our offense would put up against our defense in a real game?

Mahomes
Allen
Jackson
Purdy
Dak

Alt Lawrence
It doesnt matter where he ranks, lol the question is can we win enough games with him to get into playoffs.
Can Dak help us win the div this year?
Those are the only things that matter.
He can have a bunch of records, great stats, ranked #1, but what does it matter if he cant help the team win enough games !

Yeah, man, I've said all along the Dak just needs a top 5 all time great defense and a two thousand yard running back and he's got a real shot at this thing...

Based on they've been tracking those stats forever and the only people who ignore them a small minority making excuses for QBs.
lol just because a stat has been around a long time doesn't give it any validity. That's like saying Jerry Jones is a fanastic GM because hes been doing it forever....hey he has a winning record too.

Okay.

What do we have to show for it?

Romo STILL gets blasted a a loser. Do we fight to the death for HIM? Or...is it a "team game" .
Romo is retired and no longer plays. In a team game it is okay to compare 2 opposing teams players.

I hope your headache gets better.

Ehh... I don't think so. I think he just need a competent coaching staff a thousand yard back and a mediocre defense. If we had a mediocre defense last season we could have easily went deep in the playoffs.

But once again, great job showing that teams win Superbowls, not individuals.

He's had all those things and failed to even reach the NFCCG so, no, that's not all he needs. All you proved is he needs what Trent Dilfer had or to get really lucky like Foles. You can take that as a W if you like but it's really not a great take.

When did he have a competent coaching staff? When has he had all those things and every unit played together? Yes he was part of some good offenses, but what defenses did he have that were stout against the run???

I can easily show you the performances of those particular defenses during his career.

With that said, I thought you were asking what he would need now that he is more seasoned. Dak is a better quarterback now than he's been in previous seasons. He wasn't a complete quarterback years ago so.

For you to say he needs all that now is comical. Dak needs the same thing any other quarterback needs to reach a CCG and Superbowl. A competent coaching staff, great play calling and team management and great play from himself, the rest of the offense, defense and special teams.

Just because a quarterback is on a team that makes it to a Superbowl, doesn't automatically mean he's the only reason they're their.

But again, I appreciate the fact that you proved it takes a team to win Superbowls, not just one player. You put up a great post today, good job. Im being sincere.

It takes a team to win any game. This isn’t new information...but if your QB spazzes out in the biggest moments, your chance of winning, even with all those things in place, are almost always erased. Dak has had teams good enough to win 12 games 3 years in a row and had solid defenses that led the league in turnovers, were among the leaders in sacks, top 10 squads. He also had Quinn and McCarthy, a couple of coaches that won or went to SBs as HCs and/or Coordinators. They were incompetent?

Dak is a good qb, but he isn't good enough to win without everything being heavily in his favor, and thats just not likely given his salary demands.

I sort of get what you're saying, but the Cowboys have had some pretty good teams during Dak's run....He had 4 years of a super bowl winning HC in Mccarthy. Up until 2023 the run defense really wasn't horrible and probably closer to league average than people realize with 2020 being a significant outlier season.

I tend to agree that QBs dont win or lose games on their own, but people really go out of their way to create excuses for Dak. Ultimately the Cowboys have not been able to even sniff a champtionship with him on the roster....Is that because he needs to play better? Maybe. Is that because the Cowboys front office just can't field a complete roster? Maybe. Either way it's fair to point out that building around Dak Prescott has not worked out for this team.

Probably light them up like everyone else. That's not the point though.

No those things have nothing in common. Pure nonsense.
