Dak Top 5. Let's talk argument against it

I sort of get what you're saying, but the Cowboys have had some pretty good teams during Dak's run....He had 4 years of a super bowl winning HC in Mccarthy. Up until 2023 the run defense really wasn't horrible and probably closer to league average than people realize with 2020 being a significant outlier season.

I tend to agree that QBs dont win or lose games on their own, but people really go out of their way to create excuses for Dak. Ultimately the Cowboys have not been able to even sniff a champtionship with him on the roster....Is that because he needs to play better? Maybe. Is that because the Cowboys front office just can't field a complete roster? Maybe. Either way it's fair to point out that building around Dak Prescott has not worked out for this team.

Except in the playoffs!!!!!!

2020, BTW, aligns w/ our Poe/McCoy experiment where we signed 2 DTs who were blatantly obviously on the decline. Their previous team, CAR, had the 29th ranked rushing D w/ those 2 starting.

The run defense absolutely got exposed multiple times in the playoffs, and pretty bad, but this is where the pro Dak crowd has to pick a side….are we judging by overall performance or situationally for the playoffs? We’ve had some good years by overall numbers only to get destroyed against better teams come January. Thats the same argument people use against Dak.

I'm neutral on Dak. I think most fans are. He's neither terrible nor great. Jerry has done him no favors putting a team around him.

The arguments for and against Dak are mostly just casual fan spew.

Dak. All seriously. Is a top 8 quarterback every week. Problem is that one week he can be 8 and the next week 1. Consistency is his problem not talent. Especially in bigger games.
