Dak versus Mahomes

Naw, your right it wasn't Patty's fault they dropped their last 2 games, I mean with ALL that talent and all... good grief. Shove your homerism where it doesn't shine. If you can't see it by now, your a romojizzer and should move into jerry world.

Do you apply this logic to Dak? He had lost three in a row before last night.

Romojizzer?

At this point, you just outed yourself as an immature homer. Well done.

Since Mahomes is the 2nd coming and Dak is trash......

Through the Eagles game:

Dak Mahomes
Number of plays 284 286
Points Added 29.3 28.9
QBR 79.1 76.8
Yards 2123 2180
Comp % 70.6 65.1
Avg 8.9 9
Comp per game 24.5 24.5
TD/Int 12/7 15/1
Pass. TD 11 14
Sacks 10 8
YPG 303 311
Rushing Yds 19/133 16/80
Rushing TDs 2 0

In other words, these two guys are almost statistical twins.

Not that I don't like Mahomes, but our QB is just fine,
isn't mahomes injured and didn't play this week? so is it 1.5 games less for mahomes?

come on, lets not compare him to Mahomes yet...you DakFanatics never stop

Annnd you once again have had the light thrown down on you as a Romojizzer... good job.

Wait.

So you can't like both Romo and Dak? Interesting.
Well of course you can, hell even I liked ole throw it to the other team Tony, he had to live with this same ignorant out dated HC like Dak is. It's all you Romojizzer that get off calling anyone who actually thinks Dak is a better then average Qb "homers". All I've ever done was defend the kid, mostly because he IS the QB of the Dallas Cowboys. If your gonna open a can of worms, best be ready to eat a few yourself. I can say, I'm pretty sure I have NEVER compared Dak to any other QB's, mostly, because like I stated before, he is who he is, and they are who they are. It's NOT the same.

So again, what's wrong is suggesting Dak is a pretty good QB but not a talent like Mahomes?

It would be more apt to say Dak compared with Mahomes. QBs don’t play each other.
The term "versus" can also mean "in comparison with another" (e.g., the benefits of playing zone versus man-to-man). So, technically the OP is correct.

As an aside, the term is often misused by our youth, who think the term is a verb (it is actually a preposition, derived from Latin). This is probably due to video games where it's one player (or team) versus another. You will often hear younger folks asking "who are we vers-ing this week?" There is no such word.

Now, if we could just get them to stop saying/typing "should of" or could of" instead of "should've" or "could've" ...

Thus endeth the lesson … now get off my lawn!

I'm a Dak fan, but 12/7 vs. 15/1 is nowhere near statistically close. 7 picks vs 1 is HUGE difference.
I'm surprised that Dak's QBR is higher with so many INTs. I've been happy with Dak's play, even largely during the 3 game skid. Does look like he listened to Chris Simms though, because his throwing motion last night looked more like it did the first 3 games.

One play I noticed last night was that Wentz threw a ball behind his receiver by about 2 feet -- the throw on the run that Collinsworth complemented him on -- and the WR basically fell to the ground a reached behind himself to catch it. Our guys have been missing Dak's passes if they are a little behind them, so it's crazy to think where we would be if our WRs weren't in the top 10 of dropped passes.

Mahomes isn’t having the kind of season he had last year. But Mahomes’ ceiling is far higher than Dak’s.

Dak is playing well this season when he gets solid protection. If he can play smart bus driver, we can win with him. The line has to protect him really well and Zeke and Coop need to stay healthy.

Since I put the stats together, I can't argue with the stats. I can only say that, after watching every pass and every int Dak has thrown this year, I know that not all int's are created equally. I can think of 4 picks (not including yesterday) that either had nothing to do with Dak or came on a long throw to the endzone at the end of a half/game that wouldn't have changed anything anyway. Aside from two games this year, Dak takes care of the football.

I wasn't saying that I think Dak is better than Patrick. I was only saying that I was surprised that their stats are almost identical.

Someone mentioned the 'eye test'. That's what everyone MLB scout talked about as analytics took over MLB. Right now, Dak is 'worth' more points than Patrick (for whatever value that has).

They have identical stats now. Everyone talks about how QB friendly KC's offense and head coach are. I know I'd like to see Dak throwing to Tyrek, though I know Mahomes/Hill numbers are limited in the sample provided due to Hill's injury.

As I've said a zillion times before, I like our QB. There aren't 3 other QB's I'd trade for if we had to have someone for the next 5 years. Mahomes might be one of them.

QBR is a proprietary calculation, so we really don't know exactly how it's calculated. Given it's about expected points added (EPA), I suppose interceptions on hail Mary's probably don't matter much which is actually more realistic than standard QB rating. I know they also don't give big yardage for YAC, so quick passing offenses like the Pats with YAC as a play design won't make out as well I'm guessing.

Mahommes is great, no doubt, but he’s only in his second season and is already injured. Dak takes a beating on a routine basis and has never missed a start. He’s built like a tank apparently.

nothing wrong with this, but it's pretty much the definition of being a homer :muttley:
Whatever Proof... bottom line is, Romo ain't our QB, and won't be coming back. Sorry for your loss Romojizzer

Prescott is a good QB and has elevated himself close to the top of the 2nd tier QB's but he is not in that top tier with Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Wilson and Mahomes. However, he is top tier in guts and durability and better than Newton or Rothliesberger.

Lovin, the best you can hope for is the Dakaters to stop calling him trash. Comparing him to Mahomes is a stretch like Max loving a little too much on the Grinch when his heart grew. Too much too soon.
