Dak vs Goff

Jared Goff outplayed Kirk Cousins and led the Lions on a game winning drive without his #1 weapon and RB in DeAndre Swift. Goff was also without his pro-bowl center in Frank Ragnow. In fact, the Lions O-line has never been healthy together for the year. The moment Taylor Decker came back, Ragnow went out with a season ending injury.

This beg the question. Has Dak ever done what Goff did, under the most dired of situation? Has Dak ever won a game without Zeke while being the underdog? Has Dak ever won a game without a #1 or #2 receiver? Has Dak ever won a game when the Cowboys season was on the line? The answer is clearly no, because he is not capable of that.

Anthony Lynn is an awful coordinator and coach, and the Lions got their first tie and win with Dan Campbell calling the plays, and he awful himself. Goff won inspite of MCDC coaching, he carried his coach and saved his career. It's no surprise that the moment the Lions got Goff a starting receiver (#3) in Reynolds, Goff has looked like a different QB entirely. He looked like 2018 Goff, being clutch, and without McVay. And despite not having a starting reciever (prior to Reynold), Goff has gotten the Lions multiple game winning drives only for the defense to allow the other teams to get a walk-off win.

The Lions would go O-17 with Dak Prescott as their QB. Don't let Dak's stat fool you, this Cowboys team is literally carrying him. No one does less with more.

Now imagine if Goff had Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup

yawn...what a load of crap.

Goff was deemed not worth keeping by a team that drafted him and saw him day in and day out for years…so there’s that

Yet the guy who drafted him still wanted him and bought him over to Detroit. Holmes seen Goff just as much as other Rams personnels.

Not sure I get the reason for this post. There wasn't much comparing of the 2. You have an over view of Goff and finish with just a I hate Dak 1 liner. Just seems like another weird qb thread.

Because Dak has never done with Goff did, because he not capable of doing so. He need a running game. When Zeke doesn't get 100 yards or more, he can't win. Goff didn't have Swift on Sunday and still won. He had to overcome his coach awful playcalling. He did it for Detroit, he did it for Oxford, and he made history with the Lions.

Sorry, Goff was always a product of the system around him. Yes I agree all three are not elite the same with Cousins.
If I was going to pick one, I would go with Dak, as he brings the most to the team. The fact that you are making a case for Goff really is throwing me off. To me he is the picture boy of being overpaid, over drafted, and a system of McVay.

I agree with you. On the surface it look like that, but Goff never had a decent coach outside of McVay to even judge. Our ST coordinator coached Goff for 3 to 4 games, then Fisher, then Campbell. Even with bad coaches, Goff's receivers (Brian Quick, Kenny Britt) are no longer in the league. His current receiver outside of Reynolds aren't even starting receivers in the league. Compare that to Coop, Lamb, and Gallup. I was browsing Eagles forums and Eagles fans are craving for Gallup. They want Gallup more than our fanbase, and Gallup is only a #3 WR on this team, even though he would be a #2 on another team.

Goff is still really young and his future is still unclear. I haven't seen Goff look like that since 2018, who knows... maybe he re-discovered himself? We will see, if he keeps this up, and Stafford somehow fail to win a playoff game, you will see the narrative change quickly. Sean McVay isn't the talent evaluator that Brad Holmes is. Otherwise, why the hell did he want Snead to draft Tutu Atwell? A dude who trip over his own feet on a punt return, and get up with a season ending injury?

You mean like getting that delay of game penalty on their game winning drive that wasn't even 1 second long?

If you think Goff is a great QB, then you dont understand QB's. Simple as that.

But yah, the team around the QB matters. At least you understand that.

McVay is a rah rah coach, so far it has been a good experiment. You know the rah rah fades if you cannot win. The Rams really have this and next year before the talent drops off. I would be scared of them in the playoffs. I don’t think they beat Tampa or GB, but like usual our HC is trash.

Goff is basically Jameis Winston; can make every throw, but can't read a D very well and makes dumb mistakes too often.

So how come the Rams didn't trade Goff for Dak then? If Dak is as great as you think he is? How come no one traded for Dak? Rams had Rodgers, Watson, and Stafford on the radar. 49ers had the same as well, but no Dak. Dak has won a playoff games while Stafford has never.

How come the Colts traded for Wince, instead of Dak?
You can’t really be this stupid, can you? You do realize it takes TWO teams to make a trade, right? Guess what? We weren’t going to trade Dak, you bumbling moron!

This is stupid, Stafford is also under contract, and the Rams traded for him.
LOL. That’s what he said, you dunderhead. A player has to be under contract in order to trade him. Dak was NOT under contract and it wouldn’t have mattered anyway because the team had zero desire to trade him.

110%. Goff's problem is all inside his head, Dak's problem is physical. It much easier to fix mental than physical. This is the same reason why Lamar Jackson will never be a good QB. How can you fit a square peg in a round hole? On top of that Goff's ceiling is much higher than Dak.

Goff with Cooper, Lamb, and Gallup would be unreal!

Now Goff under pressure is awful mind you, but at least it predictable. Get him a good O-line like Brady had in New England, and watch him take whatever teams he on far into the playoff.

Dak isn't as predictable. This team has everything, yet Dak did his best to give the game away to the Saints. He just so inconsistent. One moment he dropping dimes to Gallup, and the next, he can't even throw a 5 yard slants to Browns for a first down.

You can fix Goff by believing in him and developing him. How do you fix Dak when he limited as a QB?
Apparently the Ram’s coaching staff and FO disagree with you, but I’m sure you know more than they do.

True, but he has yet to sustain it for an entire season. Now teams have game-tape on him...post ACL. He is too inconsistent for what we are paying him. But this can be said for a lot of QB's in the league. Lamar Jackson also look great in the beginning of the season as well, now he has one of the worst QBR in the league if I'm not mistaken.

Like Dak, Ravens aren't reaching another SB with Action Jackson as their QB. All teams have to do is blitz Jackson and its over. All teams have to do is shut down the Cowboys running lane and we are likely to lose.
ACL? You don’t have a single clue what you’re talking about. Just when did Dak have an ACL injury? Do you even watch the Cowboys? The NFL?

Lol dude

Dude said Dak can't win unless Zeke is getting 100 yards a game......... didn't realise Zeke had so many 100 yard games this season.

Silly me for thinking it was Dak that went to the Patriots and picked them apart. Or went to the Saints and Zeke had another fantastic rushing day........ Guess i missed Zeke's incredible rushing performances this season

Zeke has to be top 5 or 10 in rushing this season, right? Zeke must be in MVP conversation right, i mean since he is just tearing up every team we play
