Dak vs Romo: Just the Facts

Neither one of them were successful as QB of the Dallas Cowboys because they didn't or haven't taken the team to the SB. But if you are just evaluating the talent to play QB, there is no comparrison, Romo was a much better QB than Dak has been. Romo had a quicker mind, understood what the defense was doing and was tremendous with pre snap reads and his pocket presence is light years ahead of Dak. I personally think if you swap the times they played, Dak would not have been even close to as successful as Romo was with the OL Romo had most of his career. Flip that around, if 2014 Romo had the team that Dak has had for the majority of his career, he would have won a SB or two.
all good and well. its like I say I like 6, you say, no... you like half a dozen...

results.... neither was impressive. playoff success. both sucked. Romo averaged 219 passing yards per game, dak 257.
romo average 12.1 ypc, dak is 11.3
romo had 2.7% interception rate to Dak'2 2%
romo had 97.1 rating, to Dak's 98.1

pretty much similar QBs..... but I am sure somebody is going to say, Dak plays against weaker teams, while Romo put everyone on his back and carried them alone and beat up on good teams...

This image sums up the QB comparison nicely, I think. Both QB's have won two wild card games. Thoughts?

I believe TR aren’t his first 9 seasons as a starter it is his first 9 seasons so the picture doesn’t fairly show starter seasons

Silly to say the GB game where Romo had like a 148 rating. He could not have played a better game. The Giants defense in 2007 was one of the best and held a 18-0 NE team that had one of the most prolific offensive seasons ever to 14 pts. Dallas wins that game if Crayton catches a couple balls - one that hit him in the hands that would go down as one of the worst drops ever.
wait...I said yesterday about GB game last year, that CD dropped balls that hit his hands and I got skewered for blaming CD...but here we are....its crayton's fault now?

Glad you responded as that post was bat **** crazy

Romo basically played lights out that game. 07 giants defense got extremely hot late season and didn't allow 20pts in the post season. They were also the best team by far in 2008 going something like 10-1 or 11-1 before the famous gun shot to the leg that derailed their season and set them into a spiral.

Crayton drops an easy TD and potentially another huge TD or atleast 50+ gain. Dude singlehandedly left 14pt off the board.

Now switch era/teams and coaches and see what the stats look like.

And yet Dak is much more accurate
uhhhh...is he?

Hypothetical - throwing into a regular sized car tire from 25 yards. Taking turns - first to five passes through the tire wins. You're taking Dak over prime Romo? Because I would put money on Romo.

Romo was the better passer and had better arm talent. Dak was good his rookie year because he used his legs. Ever since then he's been average, and terrible against good teams. It's gonna be even worse now after this last injury.

He was literally an All Pro just a year ago lol.

So the QB who started 29 more games has better stat totals? Who knew such a thing was possible! :omg:

Both damn good QBs and the numbers confirm that. Love 'em both.

Teams win and lose playoff games, not QBs.

its 6 of one, half a dozen of the other.... its preference for crap. just because its less smelly, doesn't make it not crap

Yet Dak's highs were higher than Romos.

Give Dak Romos defense in 07 and 14, he gets by both the Packers games. Romo just doesn't produce enough offensively, fax.
Dak didn't do crap for nearly an entire half, barring some pics that resulted in TDs.
And he played second stringers in the second half.

Comparing 2 turds to see which one smells less is pointless.

If you watched both play and came away thinking Dak was a better QB than Romo, you are completely clueless. I was never a Romo fan. He was an average to slightly above average QB. Dak fell into the perfect situation with the Jones’. They never put stock in the QB position. He’s a backup on any team with eyes on reaching a SB.
