I do not think people are "doubling down" on anything but simply pointing out that Wentz is off to his best career start.

Best start in terms of what? His best season was 2019. He averaged 60 yards more per game. The one thing that is low is INTs, I'll give him that. But he's average at best.

The best team doesn't always win the Super Bowl. The hottest team usually wins the Super Bowl. That was the Eagles in the 2017 playoffs.

I believe the 2017 Cowboys had better talent, but the Eagles had a better coach, Zeke was suspended 6 games, Dak had his worst season, and things just didn't go our way. It happens.

Be that as it may, the Eagles had a more sound defense that year (team had a +162 point differential to end the regular season giving up the 4th fewest points in the NFL) so when Foles stepped in it wasn't as big a blow (Eagles defense gave up 17 points in 2 playoff games before Super Bowl) whereas Dallas had a terrible defense as reflected in the fact Dallas was 1-3 heading into the Giants game when Dak got hurt.

Right. Defenses are a part of supporting casts as well as coaches. So this notion that Dak had a "stacked team" when we all sit here and talk about how bad the defense has been and how bad Garrett was? Yeah I don’t know…

Agree completely, and I mean that with 0 disrespect to Dak. So many QBs fail coming out of college and I truly believe where they end up matters. I don't think Mac Jones was the best to come out of the draft this year, but so far he sure if playing like it. Lawrence/Fields/Wilson haven't had a chance of success. I bet if you put any of them in New England though that team is no worse off than it is currently. Also put Mac Jones on the Bears and we are talking about how much of a bust he is rather than what he could become in New England.

So if this is true why does Sam Darnold stink? He has a good supporting cast and defense…shouldn’t he be doing better than he is?

Via the NFL, general QB rankings considering all stats. Sorry, it's not just one specific statistic. According to the NFL, he went up from 19th. The list looks pretty legit unless you're biased.

Sorry I have to disagree.

that eagles team had the best offensive line in the NFL. Their defense was very good. Their pass rush was one of the best in the league. Their running game I believe was #2 overall.

Ertz was one of the best tight ends in the game that year.

That 2017 eagles team was stacked with talent.

Some people just can't help themselves from bringing up Wentz to somehow make Dak look better. Dak is playing very well this season and Wentz is off to his best personal start of his career. What's the difference as they play for different teams in different conferences.

My guess is the people *****ing about Wentz being mentioned now are the same ones who had no problem mentioning him when the shoe was on the other foot.
