I am on record in this thread stating interception rules should be modified at all levels of the sport. Additionally, good to elite quarterbacks, quarterbacks you yourself define as being better than Prescott or Romo, are assigned interceptions that were not their fault. You know. Smart, winning quarterbacks by your definition.

Next agenda counterpoint.
Here is my question…a real one..not on a side. Let’s say they do this like they do errors in baseball and there is a criteria for Ints. Then how do you score ones the D drops? There were plenty of those for Dak. In fact right before one against SF, he threw the exact same route..badly..to a defender. I guess my thoughts are QBs can’t have it only one way.

I'd buy this if his balls didn't sail every time he attempts to put a little pop on them.

Here are some things about if a pick is on the QB or not. Stats and rules does no good as if on the QB or not. The pic stat is always on the QB.

So did the WR runt the incorrect route, rather if tipped or the QB seemed to throw it right to the defender. Was the pass hurried and overthrown or under thrown, because the OL did not block well. Then should that stat be ...oh, that OT has 3 picks against him this year. No that is ridiculous. How about the RB missed his block. That pick is on him.

Yes, there are reasons why a pick happens, but they still go against the QB. Therefore the fans and non fans of that QB with argue.

It is just like a RB. So a RB gains 3/4 of a yard, or say 1 inch less than a yard, therefore it goes as no gain. A different RB gains 1 1/4 yards, or that 1 yard and 1 inch, but he is credited with a 2 yard gain. As it does not count as a yard until you pass the hash mark.
How many yards for a RB are skewed because of this? At least when dual RB or RBBC is used.

5-1 the past 2 seasons.

If winning is all that matters then Rush should Dak is not needed.
You do realize how ridiculous this sounds? Just like many more of your narratives you repeat over and over.

I know someone that claims James Street is the best QB ever to play in the NCAA, because he went 19-0 for the Longhorns. Claiming he never lost a game, therefore is the best college QB, ever.

So we're just going to ignore the statements made by the player, the head coach and the team owner/GM, and go with your feeling?

Got it.
Sure ignore them. You ignore them any other time. It’s 2023 and you haven’t realized yet that what they say in pressers is crap?

In all your years/decades of football fandom, do you remember any other QB who has had his interceptions dissected, reviewed and studied, with seemingly the goal of relieving responsibility of the QB, to the extent that goes on here and now with this QB?

This is some serious trend setting, universe resetting stuff going on here at the Zone.
I think part of it is daks perplexing throws. I use the double interception plays as an easy....yet obvious ...example.
The first one should have been intercepted. Then exact same play taken to the house.
Leading the league in ints despite missing 4 games. Perplexing. Regardless of whos fault.
No....i dont expect every dak pass to be perfect. Yes....other qbs have head scratchers too.
Daks pendulum swing.....perplexing.

Dak and Rush but suck.

Rush just showed the gap between them isn’t much if winning is the goal.

Is winning the goal, Jazz?

All passes are not bad and still end up in the defense's hands. Next agenda counterpoint.
I get what you are proposing....but...i think we get too caught up in stats. How far are we gonna break them down.
I think dak should keep his comments more general in the public. I mean it wont matter what he says, hes gonna get criticized. But how about....
"We are working on better connections"
Or something like that?

It depends on who you talk with here, but it's pretty easy to see those that aren't concerned with any other POV but their own. And it's usually low football IQ kind. Never any mention of X's & O's. The real meat of it.

Do you remember the defense played great those games with Rush, and not as well with Dak toward the end of the season?

I am not all in on Dak, I want to see how he does this year under a new OC as well.
But I do know enough that Rush, yes they shown they can win with him. But for an entire season, I am not sure that would have been sustained.

I do know, I will be apprehensive about Dak going into the 1st part of the season, until we see this 30% new offense and play calling. Because I need see a reduction in these INT's. No matter who a fan blames the INT on. However, the ball is in Dak's hands, he still has control of it.
I am also excited at the same time for this season, and believe he will be better, though the running game and K concerns me.

It is all ahead of us to wait and see.

I don’t need to see 8 years, 2 HCs, and 3 OCs worth of a QB to be able to tell what they are and aren’t at this point.

Got ya, bro.

Your feelings greater than the direct quotes of those directly involved, as well as the clearly visible "eye test".

We're so lucky to have you.
I don’t even know what you’re going on about now…..crying about what again?

Exactly.
Dak was clearly doing things differently last season.
He has been criticized throughout his career for "needing to have the receiver wide open". The word "separation" became the word of the year in 2018, after rarely hearing it in discussion the previous 12 years I'd been here.

It was obvious even before the player, the HC and the Owner/GM directly addressed it, that Dak was trying to do something he had not done before, and it was leading to some poor decisions and tipped balls etc. The double interception play is a great example of someone fighting his innate attitude of conservatism, to aggressively make a play.

It's a tough row to hoe, to change a natural instinct towards a particular attitude. In our ideal world, Dak took a step towards that and learned from the mistakes to find the balance.

We're finna to find out here in a few months.
