Dak wasn't that good last night **merged**

He averaged 229+ yards per game passing in 2016.

He tossed for 302 yards in his lone playoff appearance.

So the answer is obviously yes, he "can".

Will the situation dictate that? Who knows.

Need to stop looking at 2016 and using that a the Bar .

The league HAS adjusted . Dak HAS not .

Unitl then, Dak blows ....

Face it

and can he average 225 yards per game consistently is the very definition of a bar.
again, stop being willfully obtuse.
again, I presented stats in the previous response. he has had 3 300 yard games in his 35 game career....one in the playoffs......... and the question was can he average 225...I take that as a bar...at this point..... you are taking two separate responses and trying to tie them together when they were responses to a different set of discussion.......

you like dak, you think he is great. you think he is fine. you think he will be good. I don't buy that yet. what do you want me to say? that I am with you and I agree with you? let them play the games. lets see what we got. my view is that he is not a franchise QB and he can't get us there and he is not capable....prove me wrong? heck you can't...he hasn't done it and has not been capable of doing it...if he does and if he shows he is a good QB I will apologize to Dak personally...good?

One thing that bothers me about the NFL passer rating thing and that's the lack of including QB rushing yards...

In my view QB rushing yards may be the most efficient rushing yards on the field. It seems when a QB like Newton or Wilson or Dak take off and get that first down or score a TD it really seems like those yards are worth far more than those picked up by a running back. Gotta be some formula for that.

In conjunction, most are not giving Dak any credit for those rushing yards and 1st downs he piled up vs. the Giants. The low passing yardage is mentioned but no mention of how effective his runs where in helping win that game.

You are talking complete nonsense and 300 yard games are pointless when that was never the bar.
That is the very definition of a pivot.

And your "fact" is wrong because he was over 300 yards passing in his 1 post-season game.

U need to play Michael Jackson " Man in the Mirror "

Dak is all smoke and mirrors . and its showing

why are they worth more than a RB? I fail to see the logic....

and its not just about low passing yards. if he passes 4 120 yards and his YPA is around 7.5 then great...but when he passes for low numbes and his YPA is about 6...then that's a cause for concern. and when outside of one play and again I mention that the play counts and should count...but outside of one play, his YPA is 4...then that's a cause for a big big concern.......a QB has to be effective as a passer. rushing the ball is gravy...matt ryan, luck, brady and many others, don't rush much, but wouldn't you take them over Dak?

he had zeke the past two games and last 3 games of last year.....

And he just got off a six game suspension last year and didn't have a single carry in this preseason. And he has only 32 total carries so far.

But I know, you expect instant SB caliber performances from everybody. Sorry it's not happening. Better find another team to root for, a SB ready right now team....

Why I think they're worth more is two-fold... Much of the time they occur in key situations– Getting that 1st down (or not) or scoring that TD (or not). And you watch the defense on the field after a QB gallops for a 1st down after they've seemingly done everything right... Quite often they look deflated.

Of course I would take Brady... Luck & Matt Ryan? Nope. Not efficient enough for the amount they're getting paid. I think Luck is the most overrated QB out there. Ryan isn't far behind.

so now we are writing the excuses,
he didn't have zeke....... but wait he had zeke,
yeah, but it doesn't count because zeke came off suspension.....
so he had zeke this year......
yeah, but zeke has only had 16 carries a game...
so why did zeke have only 32 carries so far!!
a RB doesn't get all his carries on first downs...they get carries on 2nd and 3rd downs too...right?
so if you look we were in a lot of 3rd and long situations...which means Zeke lost a lot of carries on 3rd downs because we had to throw the ball...we were also in a lot of 2nd and long situations....which means you most probably are forced to pass more so than run the ball..... which explains why zeke hasn't had a lot of carries......

but he had Zeke!!!! fact is that the giants were bold enough to call out Dak even though they knew it was bulletin board material....they said, we will stop zeke and force Dak to beat us.... what they didn't count on was the dallas defense showing up like they did....ask any coach in the league...if the opposing QB goes for 16/25 for 160 yards against your defense...would you take it? 99.99% will say yes.

That's all I and others ask, just sick of judging Dak based on just over two years.

Like Alec Baldwin said in The Hunt for Red October "Give the man a chance"
why can't he get judged in the middle? I posted an opinion and dak lovers went wild hog.....I am giving him a chance....he plays the next game? no? it goes with the territory...you don't want criticism from fans and media...then don't play. go get a regular job.

matt ryan has lead his team to the superbowl and if not for a dumb play call, would have had a ring...Luck is 2.0 and there was a reason he was 1st pick of the draft....ask Jerry if he would take luck over dak...ask any GM.

Well the Cowboys aren't getting Luck and they aren't getting Ryan.

exactly....it was a different game back then.....passing offenses weren't as sophisticated and dominant as today. a 3000 yard passer was considered to be a big achievement....the game today produces 4000 yard passers regularly and there are 5000 yard passers....if and that's a big if we can replicate the 90's in 2018, then great.... but its a different game today than it used to be. geez..that's not so hard to understand......

sorry, I am not impressed by Dak and I used to defend him vehemently...but color me not impressed. he has regressed than progressed.

I am not here ot deal with feelings.

I am here to correct false statements and mis-characterizations and provide context where possible.

Aikman was not a volume or yardage passer EVEN in his era.
He was an efficient passer and a winner.
His quarterback rating was an 81.6.
His winning % in regular season games was 57%
His comp % was 61.5
His yard gained per attempt was 7.0

Dak is much more an Aikman type player than Romo.
He relentless protects the football having been among the lead leaders in fewest turnovers for his position at every turn.
His comp % is 65.2
His regular season winning % is 67%
His yard gained per attempt was 7.3
His quarterback rating is 95.1

exactly.....their GMs would be nuts if they ever did.
The Colts GM would gladly trade for Dak today.
Andrew Luck is on an awful team making a gazillion dollars coming off a terrible injury.
Luck is making 25 MILLION. He was won 11 games since the start of the 2015 season.

That team would be far better with a cheaper, healthier QB and a ton of cap space.

ATL has done well with Ryan at times but he's also underachieved plenty. And he is 33 years old.
He makes 17.7M this year but his cap hit raises to 23 next year before 32M in 2020.
He is the 2nd highest per year avg paid QB in the league at 30M

Dak makes 680K and is the lowest paid starter int he league yet has gone 23-11 in his regular season career.
