I was keying in on Daks footwork this game and wow. Its pretty clear that a majority of his bad throws are in large part due to him stepping backwards or not setting his feet before throwing the ball.
There's many people on here who are much more well versed at studying tape and diagnosing his play I am certain, but it looked pretty obvious to me.
This actually gives me hope we can coach that out of him and he will become a much more confident QB.
I am a fan of the guy on and off the field, but Ive had my doubts as well. His turn around since Coop has me really excited again.
I would be intrigued to now from the QB gurus of the board how trainable footwork is for a QB. I think Dak's issues are common for a QB whose athleticism is their primary asset during much of their football upbringing. Coaches ride their athleticism, and they aren't often given the same technical training a less athletic QB is at the same age.
