Not true. Romo worked on improving his skills until the day he retired. All good players do. A lot of times that "getting fat" from getting a contract coincides with the same time-frame that the body's metabolism slows down a bit.

Dak will get paid and still work hard to improve his game. It's called having a competitive spirit. Sure, he might put on some pounds in the future, but again, a lot of that will probably stem from metabolism.

Of course it’s not true. It actually flies in the face of reality.

Hope he improved on those wide open crossing patterns. Also hope and the FO come to contract agreement that is reasonable for both sides.

Yes, let’s. Ima go with “they’re different people,” since it’s obvious.

You could also look at the fact that Romo was a better player after signing his contract as evidence that he continued to work hard, btw.

Just about everyone at the NFL level works their butt off to get there. Talent plays a big role in it too. When your a QB and you have to work so hard on your mechanics to make up for your lack of natural talent what happens is under pressure you break down and resort to your old ways. It's like why doesnt every tennis player have a great forehand. He hits thousands upon thousands of balls and looks great in practice and can beat lesser players no problem but when he faces another good player the other player can break his forehand down by constantly putting it under pressure. It's like this in every sport. This isnt to say Dak cant play in the NFL it's more about you must have a lot of natural talent to go with that hard work because no matter how hard you work you wont be able to hide your weaknesses but so much.

Lol at theyre different people. Romo got fat in his 20s and tom is damn near 50. Judging by toms combine photo lets not get into a genetics debate. Tom puts in the work in the film room AND the gym. Romo didnt. Period. Dak came in out of shape in 2017. He doesn't get any benefit of the doubt from me that he'll do everything possible to be his best after hes paid.
