Believe Quinn was told he is next in line if MM fails to make next step
This is exactly why we are seeing a sense of urgency from MM IMO. I don't think Jerry will hesitate to pull the plug if we are playing 500 or below by mid-season. See Jason Garrett-Wade Phillips 2006

Wouldn't surprise me, but that Garrett-Phillips move didn't really get results. I don't think McCarthy-Quinn would be any different.

Over the last 17 years: Same front office, two "franchise" QBs, four head coaches, four playoff wins. It seems HC isn't the issue.

I don’t see that, unless team quits their on their hc, but if they don’t make it further, Quinn will take his job in 2024

This is probably the most accurate if Rush isn't resigned. If the Cowboys aren't paying Rush, I can't imagine they would pay the rest..
Rush may want to move on regardless of the Cowboys' money. As for Grier or a draft pick backing up Dak........
You are willing to trust either option with your season or say Dak's misses significant time ( 4/5 or more games ).......I'm not, easy answer for me.

Hendon Hooker
not even sure he will be ready to be a #2 health wise. maybe a 3 but we still need a 2 ..maybe will Grier 2 and Hooker 3 until Hes back full 100%..if dak does go down for a considerable stretch, you go grab vet off the street.

BTW i doubt rush is 100% gone yet, so lets wait and see what happens there.

why? just to be a backup somewhere else? hes not getting starter job, so why leave?? you friends with him, have a beer with his agent, you seem awfully confident he wants out. im not, there still shot he remains here.

if that happens you can grab a vet FA off the street.. why not give the draftee and Greir all the snaps until then,? no one thought rush could do the job last year dak goes down this place says its all over and were begging Jerry to go get a better QB to pay those 4-6 games, well we went 4-1.. if the OL and run game get back to being physical like they were those 5 games with that d playing well, then the backup will just need to steer the bus.

May surprise a few but for me Jameis Winston is interesting. Sean Payton loves him. He was actually good before his injury last season.
  • Baker Mayfield
  • Jameis Winston
  • Sam Darnold
  • Teddy Bridgewater

I dunno man...

Ted is getting kinda brittle.

Backup need to be able to take some hits as the defensive pressure goes way up once QB1
goes down.

If you choose any one of those QBs, you’re going to have a large percentage of the fan base screaming for one of them to be the starter at some point during the season. It may take only the first INT of the season by Dak before fans start screaming for one of those QBs to replace him.

The backup will be Will Grier and a draft pick.

No to Winston. People don't like interceptions. This guy threw 30 in 2019. Also, other reasons.
