I am certain that they learned from the Zeke situation (and the Jaylon situation, by the way) - he shouldn’t have been given that contract, but the Cowboys felt like they were all-in for a Super Bowl this year. Boy were they wrong. He would have came back to the table and ate humble pie just like Melvin Gordon by week 8, and the team would be in the same spot.
He won’t make the same mistake with Dak.
As for Dak, I like him but I agree that his agent made an enormous miscalculation. He left $32 million plus a signing bonus on the table - that’s $32 million he will take years to get back. And I know people don’t believe me, but with the Cowboys picking 10 to 12, if Tua is on the board, he’s going to be a Cowboy. One redshirt year with Dak franchised, ala Patrick Mahomes, and Tua is your starting quarterback in 2021. It’s going to happen.
