Wow, if he really had offers similar to the ones Wentz and Goff got, him and Dak must feel like complete fools.

They are going to miss out on a lot of money.

With the way Wentz and Goff have played and how each team has taken a step back this year, GM's will most likely devalue the position and the rate for a mid range franchise QB will drop significantly.

Dak has lost out on 10s of millions of dollars at least.

No way he gets the deal he is looking for now.
It's really going to be up to Jerry and the comfort level of the new Head Coach. My guess is Jerry is all in because he is a azz-clown and wants to show the world his 4th round pick is an elite player at the position, much like clinging to Garrett the past decade. I am anxious to hear the words and see the body language of the next HC regarding the QB situation.

people make fun of dilfer, but the ravens dumped him , and didnt go back to another SB for a decade or so.
Had they kept dilfer they might have won a 2nd SB.
he did his job, and it worked with their defense.
He reminds me a bit of Flores
Not a great QB but fits what they do and that’s pretty dang important
I bet the Eagles deep down wish they had went with the guy who fit them over the guy with all the talent

Dak will be the highest paid QB whether it's here, there, or anywhere.

He'll be a Cowboy and I anticipate he'll make between 35-38/mil a year and back into cap hell we go!

It would be really interesting to see him on the open market to see what team might take a chance at that 35M price tag.

Whatever. You know Jerry will still give him 35M, keys to his house, and invest in his ugly *** bowtie company.

You do not know that. I am certain that they learned from the Zeke situation (and the Jaylon situation, by the way) - he shouldn’t have been given that contract, but the Cowboys felt like they were all-in for a Super Bowl this year. Boy were they wrong. He would have came back to the table and ate humble pie just like Melvin Gordon by week 8, and the team would be in the same spot.

He won’t make the same mistake with Dak.

As for Dak, I like him but I agree that his agent made an enormous miscalculation. He left $32 million plus a signing bonus on the table - that’s $32 million he will take years to get back. And I know people don’t believe me, but with the Cowboys picking 10 to 12, if Tua is on the board, he’s going to be a Cowboy. One redshirt year with Dak franchised, ala Patrick Mahomes, and Tua is your starting quarterback in 2021. It’s going to happen.

Doubtful. Foles can't stay on the field and sucks as a QB.

Reality hurts and Jerry has finally accepted his Goof as till today no deal has been made and after the last month or so no deal will be made with the exception of the tag and that I do not consider a sure thing for Dak at this point.
I agree that If Tua is on the board or any other of the top QB prospects selecting them will be a gimmie for Jerry and Son.
Believing that Dak is the future of this team is like leaving Jack the Ripper to take care of the girls.

Agree. Should have closed the deal after week 3. That was the high point. But Dak isn’t really the problem, it’s the porous defense and terrible special teams more than anything.

Dak will be ok biggest issue is staff and lack of accountability .

Would be all for drafting Tua but Dak is the Cowboys QB now and for the foreseeable future and probably the rest of his career

Well I am absurd then because there is no such thing, only in your mind does it exist.
ask 10 different people what elite qb is and you get 10 different answers, because it is whatever is in their minds.

Some QB's are better than others, or more skilled, smarter, but it depends on a bunch a variables, as to how well they will do.
you dont need a great qb to win a SB, you need a great team that is playing good at playoff time.

i can pretty much guarantee you that when you ask ten different people who is an elite QB in the NFL, Brady, Mahomes, Brees and Wilson will be among them and Blake Bortles will not.

yeah in their heads they are elite, but Brady has not looked good to me all season, mahomes is tapering off,
the bkup in NO was undefeated, Some qb's are more consistent than others, but they are all on different teams
with different coaches, and that makes a difference.

do you even read properly?

I said unless your talking about Brady this year, your example of the Chiefs loss is utterly absurd. Mahomes lost to an elite Brady that year and Mahomes lit up the Patriots defense, that despite giving up yards at times they were the 7th ranked scoring defense.

Mahomes was a thousand times better than Smith in the same exact offense. The personnel was the same. Further, Mahomes allowed their coach to do plenty of things Smith could never do, And whether Mahomes tapers off or not, does not make him not elite.

Your Dak homerism has made you delusional.

If you put an elite QB on this Dallas Cowboys roster with this OL, they would make the team that can’t beat a winning team look much better. That’s what you call elite..
