He looked heavy. he lost his movement. He couldn't run for first downs. He didn't play in pre-season. And he ends up with a season-ending hamstring injury on a non-contact play.

Was he ever in good condition this year?

I hope the next coach makes him play at least a quarter in the preseason.

He couldn't run because he had a boot on his foot, but it was downplayed as not being serious!!!!!

Dak being slow etc started several years ago, people just didn't realize
Realized yes, in denial that it would affect his play? Yuppers.

When Dak tore his hamstring, it was the most open pocket he had seen all year

His conditioning had nothing to do with the injury. He’s never had a problem with his conditioning. Besides, no player has a conditioning problem 8 games into the season. He hasn’t run well since he injured his ankle in 2020. Some of the worst injuries are non contact injuries. The lack of running may have caused something on the 22 yard run he had. That was the longest run he’s had in years.

Dude has definitely been skipping "leg day" for the past few months. But hey, overseeing a new construction build is stressful, folks.
I'm sure he'll be hobbling around and smiling on the sidelines. He might even want to suit up once Dallas is down by 20 points, as long as the opponent goes into prevent defense.

Dak not in shape??? When has that ever happened?

What a serious over-reach to assume Dak is not in shape. Ever.

Yes Dak has slowed down, but he was never a great runner. He was an opportune runner and a tough runner. The bigger concern was the disappearance of any semblance of arm strength. He’s never had a great arm but it’s always been in that slightly above average range. This season looked like Peyton Manning the broken neck era.

I think he had the injury all along , just not to this severity. and they knew it. . I don’t expect to ever see him again with this team.
especially not this season
Based on what? Are you saying his low quality of play was due to some phantom injury?

Rewatch him his first couple of years. He doesn't hardly resemble the same player. Dude can't move. Forget about running.
As I said...fullback-style bodies don't age well, esp when they are playing QB. The dude is a natural 240 pounds. Thick in his torso no matter what he does. You think exercise is going to change bone structure?

Quarterbacks need to quickly set...and reset. Then set again. Do you think that's easy for a really big, wide-as-a truck guy? You think an athlete, who was never fleet of foot, has had lower leg injuries, and now has mother nature closing in on him...is going to be able to show mobility or run ability?

While I've often defended Dak I was *emphatically not* against extending him. Anatomical-NFL-history was a prime reason. The blame lies with Jerry, not Dak. Dak has always done all he can. Dak will always do all he can. At this point in his career....It just will fail.

Too busy partying with the money he knew he’d get from Jerry. His off season workouts consisted of limp wristed dancing. (If you haven’t seen the video) the dude went soft. Money does that to many athletes. He’s set for life, the hunger and drive gone. I’d cut the dude and eat my losses.

Entire team is not in shape

Coaches fault or the owner?
Obviously the owner because big names rarely play at all in the preseason. I think Morris Claiborne played only a couple games in his whole time in Dallas.

No mobility in the 21st century NFL does not spell success . Joe Burrow has even had a 40 yr scamper for a TD this year . I’m not even going to talk about what Purdy did to Dallas extending drives with his legs .

they make it look easy, us on the other hand we have to spend time talking about it and having it be talked about in the media

I don't care what the excuses are. I care about the reality. The reality is he looked old and slow and now he is broken.

Yep, his buddy, did the same thing when he got his contract.
