Didn’t say anything about being ok with losing, I just dont get hung up on paying Prescott 60m instead of 55 and thinking the delta would be invested into making them a better team.

I also understand that QB salaries are about timing and leverage, not based on a scale of how good you are or what you’ve accomplished.

Some think that if the NTC didn’t exist they could just easily ship him out of here for some draft haul. He would need to be on board anyway, so it doesn’t matter.

Micah is a much better player than Dak, but he is not the best Edge in the league so he does not deserve the highest contract. Jerry waited and he will sign Micah for about $41 million. Had he signed him after the season ended he probably could have gotten him for about $36 million. Imagine if Jerry let's Micah leave for free agency after paying to keep Dak.

I think you need to look up the stats again from last season between Rush and Dak.

Your feelings are getting in the way of facts, as usual with you Dak fans.

The most likely scenario had they allowed Dak to walk after the 2020 season would have been to sign a veteran castoff and had them compete with Rush. There’s no assurances they would have beat out Rush. Will Greer had some starting experience when he came to Dallas and couldn’t beat him out. The same with Trey Lance, he couldn’t beat him out. No assurances Tyler Huntley or Taylor Heinicke could have beat him out. Jerry has already been through trying to bridge the gap with a veteran castoff during the early 2000s.

We missed the playoffs with Vinny and Bledsoe. You’re in a sad situation when you’re bringing in QBs that have been kicked to the curb, trying to find someone to bridge the damn gap. Again, look at the Giants, Steelers and Jets. Allowing Dak to walk after the 2020 season would have left us in a tough situation. It’s always possible we would have forced a pick in the draft to try and replace him. We might have ended up with Mac Jones who went three spots after Parsons.

We would have been screwed with him. Nothing good would have come from letting Dak walk after the 2020 season. It’s not like we didn’t have some good teams after he signed that contract. We had three straight 12 win seasons, and won a playoff game. That’s certainly not the goal, but it could’ve and probably would’ve gone a lot worse without him.

to say the Joneses have mishandled the Dak negotiations is an understatement. if there was a study on how to screw up negotiations, this would be the case study. back in 2020 they had a chance to give him a reasonable contract, but Stephen backout over a 1-2M per year. then they didn't leave themselves an out, so they cornered themselves and his agent knew, so they ended up Tagging him and pay more in that one year than the difference in annual contract his agent wanted originally. his agent played it perfectly. then the idiots did it again. left themselves no option, but to hand out the 240M 6 year contract.... stupid is what stupid does.

then jones did it again, went into the contract year, with ZERO QBs under contracts the following year. Dak's agent was laughing and rolling the whole time. and then jones decided to milk the publicity and dragged it out, which essentially is playing right into Dak's agent's hand....signed an hour before the first game of the season, essentially we won't sign and go into the year unless you give us what we ask...stupid is what stupid does

now we are doing it again with Parsons..... how many media posts have there been on Parsons contract. Jones is loving it.

micah suffers from the same results as Dak. he shows up against easy opponents. disappears against better ones. and sucks in the playoffs.

exactly....dallas cowboys are not $5M cap space away from being a superbowl team....so the contract choking the cowboys argument falls apart like paper in ocean during a hurricane
