Disagree. Dak's contract won't look like a bargain in 3 or 4 years.
Going in to 2020 there are 4 QBs scheduled to make more than $30 Million this year. Jared Goff, Kirk Cousins, Ben Roethlisberger, and Russell Wilson. 10 behind them will crack $20 million. Garoppolo, Foles, Ryan, Flacco, Aaron Rodgers, Brissett, Carr, Alex Smith, Stafford, Newton.
Alex Smith is likely not playing for anyone. This is the last year of Kirk Cousins contract. Foles, Flacco, Brissett, Carr, and Newton are likely being moved.
Total 14 QBs over $20 million this year. 9 of those 14 have been to the Super Bowl.
In 2021, there are 7 over $30 million. Carson Wentz will be one of them. There are 5 over $20 million.
Total 12 QBs over $20 million.
2022, 5 over $30 million, 4 over $20 million.
2023, Russell Wilson is scheduled to make $39 million, Matt Ryan and Carson Wentz $34 million, and Jared Goff $30 million. Aaron Rodgers drops to $28 million.
The only contracts remaining in 2024 is Carson Wentz $32 Million and Jared Goff $26 million.
All told, $30 Million dollar QBs are still rare. Yep. We will definitely be setting the market. While everybody else is enjoying the freedom of having some money to spend.
