When you cut out all the fluff and headlines, it is actually a 3 year 97M deal. Thats the guaranteed money. The way the contract is currently structured , we have an out after the 2023 season if Jerry doesn't do a restructure of it...........which I agree is a long shot.

The upshot here is that if he continues to struggle against everyone outside the NFC East, there is an opportunity to move on sooner than most think.

Here’s to hoping we get a SB trophy this year..

Well, if we win a super bowl with Prescott, that changes the whole narrative. Right now, he's in year 6 of his career and has 1 wildcard playoff game win. He doesn't win many games outside the division. So, if I was a betting man............ my money would not be on Dak leading us to a super appearance. Heck, I'd be happy with an NFC title game appearance.

I don't think the front office is looking for an out with Dak. They originally wanted to sign him longer. Moreover, if there was even an inkling to get rid of Dak I would hope the next QB would be on the radar and unless it is DiNucci it is just not the case.

but you’re right. Don’t think it took any current QB playing right now whose actually won a super bowl more than 6 years to get there.

Russel Wilson
Rodgers
Brady
Ben
Mahomes
Even Jimmy G

There’s really no reason for fans to get serious about winning a championship when we have an owner who’s top priority isn’t winning one.

Jethro has most of us all bamboozled. Fans are buying into the hype /perception and why he continues the revenue juggernaut.

To truly start over, you have to suck for a year to have a shot at an elite prospect. Very few teams have the luxury of grooming an heir apparent. Even NE had to take a year off from the playoffs to get their QB. Pittsburgh will go through the cycle next year. They will probably suck in 2022 and hope to snag a QB in the 2023 draft.

You're exactly right. I also agree it's a long shot that Dak doesn't get restructured after this season. A restructure would lead to an extension. All this because of cap hits.

If Dallas chooses not to do this, Dak's cap hit for next year and the year after would be too much to absorb and still keep the team a contender. The next two seasons would be down the drain. Who knows for how long after that?

We have a window with Dak as long as Jerry can keep his cap hit manageable. I'm not the biggest Dak fan, but I'd rather him than some clown like Jalen Hurts, Heinicke, or Mayfield. I'd rather at least stay a contender than throw away the next few years. Because no way is Dallas contending if Dak has a cap hit anywhere near 40 mil a year.

Right, why hope for better when we can have more of the same?
And the same is a huge money maker.

Just look how many bought into the SB hype this year. No telling how much merchandise we sold.

And Jethro hasn’t been on the hot seat. Win win!

Sucking temporarily isn’t an option Jethro is interested in . Cause he can’t be certain or trust himself and their ways enough to find the right answer.

Look at who we were wanting to draft this era. Manziel and Lynch in 1st round. And we drafted Carter in 2nd round.

This is why Jethro hangs on so tightly when we finds a gem in the rough like with Romo and Dak. He can sell the hell out of 8-8. But not 6-10.

I agree. I think Dallas is too stacked with young talent to suck for a QB in three years. They could trade off all of that talent for draft picks and rebuild but history doesn't show Jerry would do that.

If he continues the deer in the headlights play 97 million is all there is for Dakko and we are moving on.
He should be more than happy with the income he has received for such a low Tebow-type QB talent base!
The dude literally hit the Jack-Pot of life having 2 QBs go down and Zeke to make him rookie of the year in 2016.
Having to pad his stats against the NFC East the worst division in the NFL.
A team STACKED with talent around him.
Heck, even the injury worked in his favor to get that contract.
You guys laugh but 666 man gotta be....gotta be!:muttley:

WE /YOU?? neither has an out, hes not going anywhere. you dont run a team and thing goodness for that., fans are ridiculous! really some clueless fans in the zone and the social media outlets, horrible fans really.

unlike skill players like Zeke, ac, and Dlaw , he will be here for while unless injuries like Romo make him hard to keep.

so we can stop the hate posts already Jerry sees Dak as true franchise qb and will be here form very long time. This is wasted energy.

Now those other players wont be here in 2023 so we will have plenty of cap to work around and sign the next wave of stars. you know Diggs, parsons, Lamb and others. Its a reciprocal process, this is how it is and always will be.

so please stop 45 Dak posts, 23 zeke posts and many others about fans believing they know what's best for the team about contracts and who should play, start,, be cut, be demoted etc etc. you dont not one of you know more than our coaching staff or FO, they've been doing this most of their adult lives.

Just be fan and watch and debate game plan. After the season we can debate 2022 roster but 23 OMMFFG!!
get over yourselves already.

I agree. This is all pie in the sky. But, unplanned seasons like 2015 and 2020 can happen. Jerry could care less what fans think. None if it affects his bottom line as PSL holders have to buy the season tickets no matter what or lose the PSL. If Dak is one and done in the playoffs this year, the pressure goes way up next year.
