Daks probable season ending injury could save McCarthy's job

Assuming he won’t be back or missing an extended time beyond Thanksgiving which doesn’t make any sense to bring him back at all since season is all but over.

We all know with a healthy Dak for entire season and a losing record can’t see a way McCarthy could survive. This could be his get out of jail free card.

Jethro & Son probably will just extend him for one season. And he’ll be expected to return to playoff form on Daks return next year.

Our offense with Dak and previous regular season is somewhat tied to McCarthy’s offense and play calling since the Pizza Boy left. And Jethro won’t want to separate his HC from his 2023 runner up MVP. Not yet anyway. But he’ll be on a short leash.

This should give Cowboy fans even more to frown over with hopes for new blood at the helm. But since we’ll be stuck with Dak anyway, why not his partner in crime. Lol

My theory is he’s been fired since last year they are just letting him play his deal out. He’s finished.

Remember Jethro still believed this 3-5 team was talented enough to make a run. Can’t fix stupid. Lol

Not after he threw the jones boys under the bus yesterday.
what happened?

and i just assume they let his deal expire and look elsewhere. i don’t know who’s id realistically like. belichek feels like the most likely jones splash, but i just don’t know how that works out. i’m not sold on ben jonson whatsoever. flores is intriguing

Sign Big Mike for another 4 years. He can continue to go down in flames with Dak.

The team sucked before Dak went down. There's no reason whatsoever that the injury should save his job. Do you want him back or something? I certainly don't.

My take as well. Letting a contract expire isn’t the same thing as firing somebody— so it has become JJ’s preferred method of moving from a HC

Fits in well with the rest of his passive philosophy for running his operation

If Rush wins out, and we go to the playoffs? Then perhaps, nothing less than this, if even at all a possibility
