Why would it save his job? Cowboys were 3-5 w/ Dak

Only way that happens is if Jerry doesn’t have his next yes man ready to commit…

The team sucked before Dak went down. There's no reason whatsoever that the injury should save his job. Do you want him back or something? I certainly don't.
I don't want him back either, but don't pretend things will get better with ANY coach as long as Jerry keeps doing what Jerry does. Different coaches, same results...gee, I wonder why?

My money is on McCarthy leaving after this year but the thought of him staying isn’t as crazy as it sounds. Jerry kept Garrett for a decade despite multiple years where we assumed he would be gone. McCarthy is comfortable to Jerry and he’s probably willing to coach for cheaper than most of the hot names out there.

McCarthy staying or Kellen Moore making his cowboy return are both very possible IMO
Can’t see Moore coming back. Unless Moore can’t get a HC gig elsewhere.

Cowboys are the graveyard for HC’s.

The bigger point is with the injury it takes the pressure off of Jethro to make a change .

Assuming he won’t be back or missing an extended time beyond Thanksgiving which doesn’t make any sense to bring him back at all since season is all but over.

We all know with a healthy Dak for entire season and a losing record can’t see a way McCarthy could survive. This could be his get out of jail free card.

Jethro & Son probably will just extend him for one season. And he’ll be expected to return to playoff form on Daks return next year.

Our offense with Dak and previous regular season is somewhat tied to McCarthy’s offense and play calling since the Pizza Boy left. And Jethro won’t want to separate his HC from his 2023 runner up MVP. Not yet anyway. But he’ll be on a short leash.

This should give Cowboy fans even more to frown over with hopes for new blood at the helm. But since we’ll be stuck with Dak anyway, why not his partner in crime. Lol
The only thing that will save Chub's job is a deep run in the playoffs. He was losing his job this year because this team has stunk up the place every time they hit the playing field. Prescott has played horribly this year, and the team looks like it's just going through it's motion. Maybe Rush can give the offense that little spark it needs to get going.

If he resign Mike Mac everyone need to completely revolt. That would just beyond the stupidity that’s already taken place the past 28 years.

Nah, I think they are done with McCarthy, if not it might really be time to move on to another team

Gives Jerry a built in excuse to do nothing serious this off season.
What a sad organization we are.

Don't know if this would even do it, but the only thing that saves MM is if suddenly the offense opens up under Rush and the gameplans and play designs become more complex and creative. Then he could blame Dak for his offense having to be stripped down to whatever this *******-ized version of a WCO has been.

I don’t think it does anything of the sort. Jerry has been experiencing fan apathy for the first time, and the media has been ruthless regarding the job he has done. More and more, you are hearing the media tell it like it is…(that Jerry is more about staying in the news than building a winner). He hears that. He needs to be able to refill his canister of snake oil because the one he’s been selling is stale

And that would require a change he can sell. There will be a new coach.
